I can't claim to have any expertise at all but you seem to have a number of spelling errors on the site. "photo shoot's" should not have the apostrophe, chopping and changing with upper or lower case (Studio, then studio), "featherd", "priceing". Just a few I noticed, I'd be sure your grammar and spelling is 100% as it puts some people right off. On the first page of the site the pictures seem to rotate. I'd be more selective about which photo's you rotate there, pick just your absolute best ones. When I loaded the site the first picture I saw was of a boy outside that to be honest looked like a snapshot so didn't leap out at me. I can see where the other comments are coming from, I'd imagine once you have your foot in the door with places like schools you'd be able to build up a customer base. It must be a pretty competitive market. I'm not sure I can truly comment on the pics themselves as I take my own so might be more picky than your average punter. My personal feeling was you don't have very many shots on there that are earth shattering, although most are better than I could have taken

well this sounds cool and good value if i only get a marginal improvement on the pop-up flash by using an af160, there seem to be a few going for a fiver on ebay. i have no experience of this flash a beginners question maybe MattMatic could answer. How does the af160 flash when used with the k10d. Does it require the pop-up flash to be on and it detects it flashing then flashes also. No idea what you would do. I'm hoping this will provide more light further away than the pop-up which seems to fall away very quick.

interesting thread and links. I too am hoping to do something to improve on the pop-up flash but find the flash i would like a long way over my budget. Has anyone ever compiled a list of older flashes that come up second hand that are compatible with the K10D hot shoe?

thanks iceblinker, its the purple fringing that gets me with the Tamron, whenever it has to handle stark contrast, like recently a horserider with a black hat with a white band on it, the fringing was there. If the 50-200 is markedly better on that I'll seriously consider it for £50.

ooh that sounds tempting. I have the tamron 70-300 zoom and ok its longer but have not been overawed with the quality. How does the quality of the Pentax 50-200 lens compare? if it is better then its kind of a no-brainer, i can sell my tamron for £50 i would imagine anyway, and if i want longer range can pick up a cheap teleconvertor.

i finally got my blurb book today so as promised here is my verdict. if you are a professional this will not be good enough for you, but for me and the price i paid, and knowing the person i have bought it for it is very good and excellent value. the front cover has a slight bit of purple fringing which is not in the original, and some images are a little darker. but on the whole very happy with the result, it's a book of photo's i took at my neices wedding, i know her and her husband are going to love it, and thats the most important thing. for portfolio quality books this would not be up to scratch but you do get better than what you pay for and a better design of book than any in the uk like photobox and their ilk.

Personally, the new gallery works well for me and as JR says you can always view the photo's later whereas a link to flickr has the risk at some point the photo gets removed. Did not have a bridge photo that I felt was good enough this time, hoping for a subject I can submit for this time.

yes seen that one and put my own contribution to it, but was hoping for some more comments from folks on here for experiences. I'm pretty much decided on blurb in spite of some of the criticisms, and hope for the best.
