Have just noticed that Jessops are doing the 55-300 (non WR) version for £150. Seems to be the better specced model with metal connector and lens hood. An early Christmas present maybe for someone?

Welcome Frank... you'll find several people on here already using Pentax medium format
(no surprise there then!)...i'm sure they'll be delighted to help another convert.

All the best

Love both images Andy...great job and well worth the effort. You've captured 'The Plough' in the sky so maybe you should caption them 'Castlerigg Under Plough'!

Agree about the need for the same prices...there are many Pentax related prices of theirs which are substantially cheaper on ebay than via their own shop site.

Some great images there Fletcher...the equine ones are very good but the first is my favourite...very atmospheric and love the coloured background.

Congratulations on making some money from photography, not easy to do these days.

I've just had a brief look at your website...looks very nice..and educational...i'll return later for a longer browse.

Excellent set of images...its very nice of the council to light up these structures in the attractive manner they do!

I believe from reading a couple of spaceweather sites that there is a strong possibility of spectacular Northern Lights tomorrow night and into the weekend. Talk of these being visible at more southerly latitudes than usual...US states bordering the southern Canadian border so they may even be visible over Scotland and Northern Ireland subject to the cloudcover.
