Pentax KX self timer problem
I know from experience that these timers are a bugger to get back on. I recently bought a KM with a faulty timer (running, but not tripping the shutter). I cured the problem by squirting the tiniest bit of WD40 into the mechanism, but it took me several attempts and a lot of swearing to get the blo...

Pentax KX self timer problem
Hmm, I might just leave it then as I seldom use the self timer anyway! My self timer would run until it reached the point at which it was supposed to catch the second lever and begin pulling it back to the start position, at which point it would come to a halt. I cured that with a drop of lighte...

Versions of K1000
There are slight differences between the first and second types: The first ones have "Asahi Optical Co. Made In Japan" stamped on the back of the top plate, the serial number on the top plate and the little lump to the right of the rewind crank (where the KX has the battery test button). The ...

Pentax Program A 35mm Film SLR Camera?
Any of the Pentax K - "A" lenes would work. Modern K lenses would fit, but some of them say "designed for digital" so I don't know how the would perform. Of course you will not have auto focus.

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
Further to the question posed in the title, yes they do process it. Got the slides back after 9 days, processed by the Warwick lab. The slides are mounted and numbered according to film order, but they were returned in acetate sleeves rather than boxed. I don't know if it was related to the ag...

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
Glad to head the film made it back safely. With regard to DA lenses on film, the DA 50-200 is one which does vignette throughout its range unfortunately. The MZ-6 only has a 92% viewfinder so the effect will look worse on the final slide than it did through the finder :(

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
I'm a bit worried now. My roll of Boots slide film still hasn't reappeared. I have a horrible feeling that it might have gone to the old address - as you might expect, I just put it in the envelope and posted it, rather assuming that they'd have put the right address on it! There wasn't anything...

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
Well, that appears to be three rolls of film sent off to the Warwick address never to be seen again (my Dad sent one off too, nothing back over a month on). I'm beginning to lose interest in slide film if I can't rely on Boots to process and return it. At £7 a pop they have a duty to their custo...

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
Just had a look back at ths thread I started and can add that (as Dangermouse said on 06/10) a suprising £1.30 postage is required to send slide films. I took my film to the local post office and got it appropriately stamped before sending to the Warwick lab, hence the processed/mounted slides ca...

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
I'm sorry to learn that the phone number and email address you have are incorrect and it appears you may have an old envelope and I do apologise for this. I can confirm you will need to send your films to the below address: Cewe photos Unit 4 Spartan Close Titan Buisness Centre Warwick CV34 ...

Does anyone have recent experience of Boots slide film - are you getting your slides back, as I have another film to send off. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
I sent a roll off earlier in the summer and got it back with no problems. I'm hoping nothing has changed because I sent another two rolls off last week!

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
I am sure nothing has changed. It was just that I tried the info@bootsprocessing... e-mail address which came back undeliverable and the customer service number which rang and rang. It was probably so, the last time I sent a film away! The biggest shock was that the postage for small packages...

Boots Slide Film- Do they still process it?
As this thread is the first one that came up on the Google search and I've just dropped my film off, I thought I'd sign up to update this thread. I had 5 rolls of Boots process-paid film to develop and was going to post them, but coincidentally had co come to Warwick. Cewe accepted my films at t...

What did you use today?
I still shoot Ilford B$W from time to time, usually with an MZ-3 and one of my primes. I tend to keep the DX type lenses to a minimum so I have plenty of choice for film or if they ever produce an FF DSLR:roll: It's nice to use a KX or MX every now and then fitted with a K series prime, but I would...

Recomend me a film camera please
Bear in mind that most of the DA lenses won't work properly on film - the digital sensor is smaller than a 35mm frame so you'll get vignetting. That said, I would say to look at the ME Super/ME F if you want Av mode. Compact, solid cameras. The ME F is essentially identical but has focus confirm...

Recomend me a film camera please
Just thought of this (too late to edit previous post): What about a P30T? They're available for next to nothing, and while they have a fair bit of plastic in them the lens mount is metal and they're well made. I used one for some years and found it a perfectly handy SLR. You have Av, M, and P mod...

Recomend me a film camera please
Paul_C, it depends if you want MF or AF. There are lots of pentax bodies out there. If MF is your thing, then consider ME, ME Super, MX, even the K1000. The latter was in production for years, built like a tank, and thousands of Students used them in photography course. More recently the MZ-M...

Fogging on ME Super?
My daughter's, just come back from a holiday with 5 rolls of film, some with bits of fogging, and some with looks like a shutter jam problem. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j126/Karel_Bata/Daisybadnegs.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j126/Karel_Bata/Daisybadnegspos.jpg Fogg...
