Fogging on ME Super?
Have to agree with Matt that on initial inspection, a light seal looks to be the prime candidate. But, having also had problems with shutters on an LX (a tear) and an *ist (sticking), I'd suggest putting it on to manual mode with a low F number and slow shutter speed, then firing it with the bac...

Fogging on ME Super?
Cheers. I'll get back to the folks who did the servicing. Thought I'd just hear what you guys had to say first. Myself, I've shot hundreds of rolls on an ME Super, but never seen fogging like this. Those are solid little cameras. Seals clearly. That shutter thing is new to me too. I'll see wh...

ME Super shutter cocking fault
I recently bought a black ME Super which was described as "working". To put it short, it doesn't, but as I only paid a tenner for it and it's pretty tidy I'm not sending it back (it's worth that as spares). I'm just wondering if it's repairable... The fault is that the shutter hardly ever cocks. ...

Still plenty out there
You can probably kill the growth completely, assuming you can get to it. I find vinegar on a cotton bud works very well for neutralising and removing it. Prime lenses are the simplest to work on, but you'll need a lens spanner to do it properly. Now, if anyone knows how to get the plastic li...

Still plenty out there
Update - I managed to get the back end of the 28-50mm apart after some more unbolting, it now has some dust but no fungus! Even more amazingly it went back together ok and I think it works. If the Takumar 50mm f1.4 is anything like the later SMC-P 55mm f1.8 or the M 50mm f1.7 then they're pretty ...

Kodak Ultramax 400 asa
Yes, and it's actually not that bad. For a 400ASA film the grain is suprisingly fine and the colours are quite nice. This was shot using it a couple of months back on my Spotmatic:

ME Super colour change!
I know what you mean DM, but it's a cheap camera, only cost £3 including postage a while back, so I'm nothing out if it goes wrong. The only thing worrying me is the top and front trim are plastic so a trip to Games Workshop may be on the books. I'll let you know what happens.

ME Super colour change!
I've found a K1000 with a dead meter and an ME Super I built from broken cameras at the back of a cupboard, if I can fix that meter I may have to join in this game, it looks like fun

ME Super colour change!
It needs a bit more than that ;) If you want the paint to last or be able to be handles, you need to chemically get rid of the "chrome" and get it back to brass. Then use an etch primer and finally a really good enamel rather than car paint. Even then, it won't last that long. The pros use a s...

Filters on ME_super
There should be a standard screw thread for filters - I've yet to encounter a lens without one? It may take larger filters than the 50mm lens (which confusingly takes filters with a 49mm diameter). You can fit filters to a zoom, the only thing to bear in mind is that if you're using a graduated ...

Nikon 6T closeup lens.
Funnily enough I also bought a set of close up lenses for my (new to me) Yashica-Mat on eBay this week, but they haven't arrived yet. Looking forward to giving them a run out though! :D I did take some photos back in May this year with a Hama-branded +2 diopter. Quite impressed with the results -...

Nikon 6T closeup lens.
The 6"x4" enlargements were quite acceptable to my eyes (but then, I'm probably not that fussy). :) Nor me! It'll be interesting to know if a "branded" filter makes any appreciable difference to the quality of the final image though. I look forward to hearing your verdict when the pictures...

Nikon 6T closeup lens.
Well, the prints are back (only 6"x4") and I'm blown out of the water:D, they are very good (to my eyes)! Colour rendition is excellent, sharpness is very acceptable, the out of focus areas are filmy-gauzy and smooth, very pleasing. Wih the light fall-off, some backgounds almost looked as if the...

Pentax LX 24K GOLD SPECIAL VERSION 50mm f/1.2
I'd rather just have a plain LX to be honest, these special editions don't add any extra features IIRC? I might also be tempted to buy a jammed one and then send it for servicing, as at least that way you'd know when it came back that it was likely to work for a decent length of time. Buying pro...

Negative scanner - any ideas?
With the various scanners mentioned how much of a problem is film curl? I have just got back a newly developed film which has been cut into strips of 4 35 mm negatives. Using my cheap veho scanner's strip holder the end negative is not properly held leading to that part being out of focus. I...

picture taking
I went to the Dunsfold air show a few weeks back and i noticed that there where still a few people using film including me but the big thing that caught my attenthion was the way some of the digital camara users just kept on clicking away, frame after frame. are they just hoping to take a good ...

picture taking
Maybe because my camera is old and doesn't have a fast burst rate, but even at motor rallies I use single shot. I decide in advance what I want, focus on a point very close to where the car will be, then set focus to manual and wait. Car comes, Click and I either have it or I don't.
