I just purchased the Pentax AF 360 FGZ from Jessops. com for £159.99 (about 2 weeks ago). Only tilt's no swivel but a great price. Just need to learn how to use it now. The Met 50 looked good and was only about £30 more, with swivel and p-Tyler and wireless flash. Might be worth a look.

Well I'm totally new to photography bar the last few months. I also went for the K-x after reading many reviews and have so far found it to be a great DSLR. There are others on PU who have the K-x and rate it highly. Hope you enjoy the return and a warm welcome back.

Each to there own I say. I'm new to photography and on reading reviews of the other brands, I was not put off and still went with the K-x as I thought it to stand out above the similar priced other brands.

I have a Tokina 70-210 Macro SD II f4-5.6 no hood, from a friend. Not used it much yet but the macro is not a true macro. More close focus from min 1.1m the thing is built like a tank, it feels solid. Need to give it a try and see what it can do.

I've Just ordered the Pentax AF360FGZ from Jessops.com for £159.95. Looks like a great price and has some good reviews.

I also read that the Metz 50 AF-1 is slightly better because it can also swivel. Both i read can be used wireless as slaves (no cable).

Looking forward to learning how to use an external flash but will stick with auto to start.

Anyone who has the AF360FGZ want to comment?

I'm far from an expert so this is just a thought. Three shutters clicks could be exposure bracketing. Press the up key of the four way controller and check to make sure it's not set on this instead of single shot. Hope you get it working.

Thanks for the advice, the book i'm reading is the free one from this forum a few days ago on kindle. It menstions curtains and shutters. I guess it's still a good choice to get an external flash to offer bounce flash and reduce risk of red-eye, might just stick with the cheaper Metz as i'm still a noob. I'll hold off a bit longer and see what i can do with the built in flash.

A quick question while your on the subject of Flash, I'm looking at a future purchase of a Metz 36 AF-5 Flashgun from WEX they are around £65. I'm looking but can't see if this will allow HS Mode.

I read that you kind of need this to freeze things like water droplets.

Not sure of my overall budget but i can manage £65 alot easier that £250+ for the Pentax AF 360 or 540 FGZ.
