Just come in from a shooting some waders and found the RAW plus option. Thanks for posting though Phil & John. Only just starting to shoot RAW having spent the first part of my photographic journey thoroughly getting to grips with lenses, speeds, apertures etc and shooting JPEGs - RAW is bit of revelation!

Someone recently told me that some DSLRs can be set up to shoot and store both a RAW and JPEG at the same time. Is this possible with K5iis?

ah - so that's why it stopped prompting me for it- because I had switched SR off!. Thanks John, that's another bit of the jigsaw in place. Exif is not a big issue for me, so good to know if I do need to quickly take advantage of an opportunity, not dialing in is not going to impact on image quality

Thanks John - mmmmm £350 for 3 days! - kind of chicken and egg in that if I had that sort of cash to spend on a hire I probably would not be hesitant about splashing out on a new one.

Wondering if anyone has a Pentax 560mm lens for sale or knows the closest place to me where I can hire one from. I am close to Oban so expect it might be Glasgow.

When using manual lenses is the reason for dialing in the FL of the lens only because of the need to optimise the oscillation of the SR function for that lens or is it needed for something else as well?

I am asking because sometimes when switching a manual lens under pressure ie for an opportune bird shot, saving time and not dialing in the len's FL would be beneficial. The SR would be switched off anyway as I've stopped trying to grab bird shots in poor light.

Thoughts welcome.

Mine is in used condition and has fungus (does not impact on pictures though). I am not sure if mine is a bit of duff copy but I just cannot get any reasonable shots with it on my K5iis - sold as described with original lens cap and soft case. Open to offers plus P&P and we'll see how we do.
