OK someone earlier said don't use ASDA....I use ASDA and get good results. You get two scans Hi Res and Lo Res...Hi Res are 1800 x 1200. At £2 per roll developing and 97p to scan to disc it's a bargain.
No I don't work at ASDA...in fact I work at one of their rivals....

I use chromagenic B/W films and have them processed at my local ASDA for £2, with an extra 97p for scanning to CD. The Hi Res images are 1800 x 1200 2.1 mp equivalent.
I never ask for prints (too expensive if the pics are carp) but will occasionally get some done later if I'm satisfied after viewing on my computer screen. I may even scan the negs myself if I really like a pic.
Cheap and cheerful way of doing it but can be tremendously rewarding.
Sometimes I'll convert my colour images to B/W...but that's obviously another ball game.

how big was the print.
When scanning prints I usually go for about 800 ppi max otherwise there's a lot of information that isn't really useful (polite way of saying too much carp!)

I have 5x8gb and 3x4gb cards...in my "wallet" with 8gb cards in my GX20, Samsung compact and HD video recorder.
All seem adequate for my purposes

Are the negs scratched in a uniform way? Could your camera be at fault? Have you had it serviced , does it need a service? Are you using film that's not been kept in pristine condition?
Whilst it's easy to blame others sometimes you have look "within". If you believe you've had bad service you need to to talk to the supplier of the service and get it rectified if possible.

I use the chromagenic films and would suugest that the Fuji is slightly better than the Kodak which is in turn better than Ilford.
I have my films scanned to CD (by ASDA!) and whilst not getting the colour casts of yore(green and magenta anyone..) their is a little scope for "colour?" adjustment.
I found that XP2 didn't work as well with autofocus cameras....is it me?
