Where is George ? !!
Notice how George and Mr. Pentax"Expert" are never seen in the same thread?
Is that just coincidence?

I have about 9 lenses in my Expedition 5, and as quite a few are old Pentax or Tokina, it's almost too heavy to carry. The bag itself is quite deep, so most mid-range lenses can be stored vertically into the horizontal bag (if that makes sense). As you can see in the linked photo, some lenses are physically long - the Sig 70-300 is 145mm long, and comfortably fits in the bag, end-wise. The Tokina 80-400 is about 150mm long x 80mm diameter, and is a comfy fit on the front of the K100D super. There's another 130mm of length left in the bag, so if the Bigma is 280mm in length or less, it should fit easily.

That looks like camera shake to me. Was the SR on? Maybe it's just too slow a shutter speed.

Great shots of a very interesting looking bird.
The Kookaburra is the largest of the Kingfisher family, almost the size of a crow but with a larger head and beak. They have a raucous 'laugh' which is very loud, especially on dusk. I once had Canadian friends staying with me, and on hearing this loud calling in the night, they exclaimed "It's just like living in the jungle!".
If there are Kookaburras around where you live, and you don't have a cat or dog, it's fairly easy to get them to come in to your backyard and take minced steak out of your hand.

Sorry, I was typing this as 08tiger pointed out the Kingfisher relationship.

For people with LBA how about an overlay on the LCD screen and on the pictures taken saying "This is my £1050 Lens"
That would only apply to flower or bird photos, right?

I think your options are obvious. For golf you need wide angle, say, the Sigma 10-20, as you'll always be close to the action. It is an Amateur event after all, and everyone knows those guys can't hit the ball out of the rough.
For the Ball, let's see...., the Tak 50/1.4. Old Time lens for an Old Time dance.
The fencing is a little harder to pin down....That's It. You'll need the DA*300 as it's probably the SHARPEST of the bunch. Mwahahaha.
Sorry to be of absolutely no help whatsoever,

Kindest regards
