Something not so good for the "old timer": he extended the center column instead of extending the legs of the tripod. Maybe he took so long because he was waiting for the wind to die!

slightly OT this, has anybody here, except Womble and myself tried older cameras?
I know Kris has his Horseman and I play with a range of 120 and 127 format folders but has any one else tried similar 'alternatives' to the true way?
Before 'spider says anything, it's not me in the original image either.

Oh yes - I have camera equipment going back to the 19th century, most of my favourite designs come from the 1950's though and my '59 Microflex has seen more use than any other camera so far this year.slightly OT this, has anybody here, except Womble and myself tried older cameras?
Can't get on with large format though - too unwieldy for my liking. Just sold my MPP Mk VIII (which looks a little like the camera in the picture) after having taken precisely zero shots with it. I doff my cap to Womble - I just couldn't be ar$ed with the weight and the setting up tbh...

It took a long time for him he was there at least a couple of hours and I ensured I didnt get into shot did you notice how pristine the gear is ?

That looks like a fairly new field camera. The tripod is totally unsuitable

Got a Bronica ETRSi, has its roots in the ETR of the 1970s so probably not quite early enough! 120 is an interesting learning curve though - I'm steadily testing every variety of Ilford film as with 15 exposures you can see the results more rapidly. slightly OT this, has anybody here, except Womble and myself tried older cameras?

That tripod does look a bit too flimsy for the camera IMO. My Red Snapper handles the Bronica with 200mm lens and teleconverter well enough, but I wouldn't want to put it on anything smaller!
Back to the topic (rather than discussing camera gear): I like it. I agree with the suggestion that it might work well in B&W or sepia, the only snag is the slight softness/blurring. Then again that could work to your advantage if you tweak the image in an older style.
