As an IT pro I wouldn't consider Windows 10 until they release a service pack. Early adopters are basically guinea pigs.

The end of the 'K' line?

What's next, they could resurrect 'M'.

I have been there quite a few times due to my wife's family connections with the island. There are good photo opportunities in the capital Valetta which has huge medieval fortifications dating from 1566, the Grand Harbour is particularly impressive. It is also has attractive old streets and architecture, the streets all run in straight lines either north-south or east-west. There's a lot to shoot if you wander around and like that sort of thing. The harbours often have colourful fishing boats which are a good subject too.
Despite being smaller than the Isle of Wight, Malta has 365 churches, some parish churches are Cathedral size and again the architecture can be outstanding and include wonderful pieces of art (some are a bit over the top too to English eyes!). Check out Mdina too, the medieval walled city (and original capital) with narrow streets unchanged in their layout. It's high up so you also get views over the local countryside.

The locals all speak English (it's an ex colony) and are always very friendly.
Enjoy your trip!

I've thought most 'street' photography is pretty poor for a long time. Snatched pictures of people pottering about on their daily business that don't suggest more than someone pottering about on their daily business are a waste of time!

Capturing something really worthwhile is no doubt very difficult. It's no coincidence that Gary Winogrand shot over a million images during his lifetime and had 2500 rolls of used but undeveloped film at the time of his death. I don't know the total for his worthwhile images but I think it's safe to assume it's a tiny fraction of all those he took. It also takes courage to shoot strangers without being covert (and I admit I don't have it, it may even be dangerous in my local South London!).

All my lenses bar one are FF and manual focus, Pentax 50mm f1.7M, 24mm F2.8M, 28mm F2.8A, 35-70mm F4, 135mm F3.5M, 200mmF4M, Tokina SD SZX 70-210mm F4.0-5.6. Odd man out is my 18-55mm DA. I'm happy with my K10 though.

Sometime ago I managed to buy a Slik Master Classic tripod from Cash Converters in very good condition for £20 odd quid. They usually sell for well over £100 new, I don't think CC knew what they had. As said, I'd be more careful when it comes to cameras and lenses.

I've had some images on Fine Art America for a few months. I did it for fun and haven't sold anything so not too bothered. I've had some positive comments from other photographers on my images though. They have over 8 million for sale so the chance of even being seen is small. Add to that the mark up is relatively low. Try it if you like but don't expect too much. You can only store 25 images for free, after that a paid account is necessary.
