That might well have been me - I was to the left of the main grandstand...

Don't forget, the more you ask the camera to do, the longer it will take to write the image...

I'm very much in the same camp as Tony-M. Lightroom is the best bit of software I've ever spent money on. I used to have a workflow that involved FastStone to preview, note down the numbers of the shots I would use then work on them in Elements, but only ever minor crops or levels.

Lightroom does all of the above and more - I very occasionally take something that has been through LR into Elements, but I can't recall doing so in the last 3 months.

Just my 5-eggs worth...

As per header - looking for an aluminum tripod legs only, no head needed. Condition not too important as long as everything locks/moves as it should.

Ta!

Edit: To keep it Pentax related - it's got to be capable of taking a K5+Bigma (4kg or so).

I've done something different - found a 52mm reversing ring in the box, so I've reverse mounted the 70-210mm onto the K5.

When I've got some results, I'll post them

I do quite a lot of band work and would love to be there for the "Great Day Out" but being this far south, it's a bit of a schlep. I hope it all goes well and that the causes benefit accordingly.

Hi Bernard, it is a well known issue with some of the old Vivitars. The extended shield is the problem of Pentax DSLRs. It is quite a simple fix.
1. Remove the small screws that hold the shield in place and carefully lift the shield away.
2. Cut or grind down the shield depending upon whether it is plastic or metal. Use a modern Pentax lens to gauge how much to cut away.
3. Make sure there are no rough edges and clean down well , before refitting to the lens.

Regards - Steve
That is major modification from where I'm sat

I've got a 70-210mm Macro lens and have the same issue, I did post about it some years ago.

Would my local camera shop undertake a modification? Alternatively, if anyone wants the lens, I'll discuss a swap/part ex etc.

I floated the idea of a meet-up once before and it got nowhere, but if there are enough that want to, why not?

I was persuaded by a Canon waving friend to try LR4 a year ago. I didn't hesitate to buy it once the trial was up - it really is the best piece of photo related software I've used. Prior, I was using Elements; I still have it, but very rarely use it now.
