Well, I suppose a petulant gripe is one way to get feedback

A tripod was used to get this shot, hence the 1.5" exposure. If there is movement it will be due to wind as it was blowing a gale at the time and to be honest, this was not a "planned" shot, just a happy accident.

I agree with the straightening, but sadly it was not possible to be square on (this was taken from the East side of the bridge) but I'll bear it in mind if I happen past again and the lights on the tower allow for the shadow to form.

Thanks for all the comments - I'm also in the "Thunderbird 3" camp...

PS - if anyone would like to take a look at some more - http://raybphotography.smugmug.com/ is where to look

Taken on a recent meander through town. I don't know why, but I never seem to get any comments when I post here, my last had over 120 views but no responses. Am I "that" bad?

I recently purchased the Manfrotto 055XBPro for exactly the same reason, to be able to hold a K5+Grip+Sigma 170-500 which I guess is about the same as a K5II + 150-500 or thereabouts.

I already had a Manfrotto head which I knew was capable and am more than happy with the performance of the new tripod, which also has the ability (should you wish it) to have the column pop out and go horizontal. And all for £130.

Whilst out & about on Friday I noticed the courtyard was devoid of vehicles scaffolding and barriers, so in I went...

WR is not as good as non-WR? That's interesting! Could you elaborate the drop in IQ? Thanks
It was noting specific, it just didn't seem as "there" as the non-WR. As David said, it's probably a tolerances thing.

If anything, I noticed a bit of a drop in IQ between the non-WR and the WR. Academic now, as I use the DA* 16-50 at that end of the scale.

There is no reason for the police to want/need the camera (or in this case, phone) - when gathering CCTV evidence from stores etc they don't rip the system out, do they?

A copy of the incident on CD or other media is usually enough, sometimes a statement from the operator is taken as well just to back up that the media did come from such a place at such a time etc...

It does rather sound as though the person you spoke to (were they actually a police officer, or a civvie?) had a touch of CBA-itis, but you were treated very badly in any event.

I'd be tempted to nip back on a different day and see someone else, or if you see a Sargent out on patrol, have a word with them, and take a note of his/her shoulder number.

I meant, does it actually control the number of exposures and bulb time from the remote itself?
Mine does, yes. It'll do bulb, set number of exposures, timed intervals and timer based functions. As well as just be a remote button.

It is similar - there are dozens of them out there. I've not found anything it can't do with a Pentax that it can with other brands...

I've got one which does everything that will do but is wired. Cost £20 from Amazon. I've no complaints, it's got more cable than the one-button Pentax remote and for much less cost.
