A fellow Pentax User forum member or just a user of Pentax?
I've met at least 10 of the second over the last couple of years but only two of the former, and those arranged thru the forum. Shame the Whitby/Catterick region is so far

I've noticed a lot more Pentax users (not sure if they were PentaxUsers too) over the last 6 months or so - I saw 3 in my home town on one day !!

Sorry, didn't quite make it clear. The guy was using a K5 and not amember of the Forum. It's many years since I last met a fellow Pentax user, except for members of my own family.

I went to Fairford Air Show yesterday, tens of thousands of people there. Now admittedly I ended up spending most of the day at our selected spot near the front of the crowdline but i did end up walking about 4-5 miles in total as well before we got back to the car at end of day and thousands of DSLRs were in evidence...but I only had 2 confirmed sightings of another Pentax DSLR...there must have been loads really as these two were quite close to me...one guy had what looked like a K5 with a big Sigma attached.
What struck me most about the people taking photos were how many camera phones or IPODs or even more surprising 7 and 10" tablets, there were. Have to say the sight of someone holding up a 10" tablet with both hands aiming it a moving target in the sky was slightly amusing. My son took an IPOD and some of his photos were actually quite good as was some of the video he took. Sign of the times though.

K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

That might well have been me - I was to the left of the main grandstand...

I've seen loads of other Pentax photographers. Apart from members of Pentax User Forum who I regularly arrange to meet at the Whitby Goths Festival each year I've also spotted them at:
* The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
* Around Durham
* Just yesterday at Wells Cathedral in Somerset. Two of them appeared to be arriving as I was leaving the main entrance/exit area. I don't know if they were members of this forum. I know they spotted me as I think I heard one remark something along the lines of there's another Pentax.
* And particularly at special steam train runs on the mainline network quite a few of them using older film models.
At a recent high speed run from Kings Cross to York by A4 Pacific loco Bittern I recognised the editor of Heritage Railway sporting a Pentax, I think it was a K5 but the crowds were enormous and I was too busy grabbing photos to check properly.

I seem to bump into loads of them too! I was at Hardwick Hall a few weeks ago and met a chap who had taken his K-5 mountaineering in Peru and it had kept taking shots when everyone elses cameras packed up!
They are usually very friendly and eager for a chat and it's not often that they fail to spot me as I'm usually carrying two K-5's. The K-5IIs seems to attract a fair amount of interest, particularly at wedding shoots when people constantly seem surprised at the quality of images it takes in low light without flash.
