but the hopeless wreckage of it that is used on a K1 (Image Sync) isn't even worth the download. That said, I look forward to someone mounting a realistic defense of it ??
Sorry for the negativity but that's what I have found to be so.
I found ImageSync to be similar in capability to Nikon's SnapBridge. I'm on my third Nikon with Snapbridge (D500 and D850, now Z and it hasn't improved since 2016! The times I have used ImagSync it's not induced Tourette's to the same extent as SB.

For the OP, coming from a K-1 owner, you can't go wrong with the K-1 - I think you are more likely to get better deals on used than on the K3iii

Someone on Pentaxforums has done some 3D printing, it is not as polished as the original item but as the EP-FR is a good fit and to tell you the truth does not look out of place on the Z-1/5 that to me is a good long-term option. I did ask for images of the 3D version but got nothing back.

I followed someone's suggestion to try to fit a more recent JJC EP-FR eyecup just to get over the nakedness.

It fits, needs a bit of persuasion, and everytime you need to open the camera back it has to be moved.

BUT.... it is better than nothing. So, I am happy.

£20 for the FA80-320 I am jealous of - that would have got me over the frustration of selling the lenses that work on the Z-1p by those that don't (AF-wise), the D-FA.

I'd been eying up a Chinon CP-7m that sold for £7.99 a few weeks back - I hesitated. That would have completed my 1987 trilogy - got a CP-7m then as I couldn't afford the P50 or T70 (was a poor student then..).

I presume you have confirmed lack of operation by putting fresh batteries in the camera? Always find that when a flash hasn't been used for a while it throws a tantrum (not just limited to Pentax) and takes a while for the innards to get up to speed.

Failing that, consider a compact Pentax (or compatible) flashgun, more power but not as bulky as the AF500FTZ (which is also prone to tantrums),

That does look like a good deal... If only I hadn't got the Nikkor G 80-400.. One positive advantage you can see of the D-FA over the Nikkor just by looking at the lens is the tripod food - Nikon doesn't have a good rep in that regard.

Does the French law not make the distinction between personal and commercial use? If you are not earning anything from the image, nor casting the subject in an unfavourable light then surely that would be ok.

Strange....

Image Sync to iPad works very well. Actually better than Nikon's Snapbridge (Canon's offering is not much better!)

The only 'snag' with Image Sync is that you can only download files in their original size, whereas Snapbridge does give you the otpion of 2MP files.

I don't use this as storage, but as a means to share images (such as on Flickr or Instagram).
