Same here - called 'Unobtainium'
KEH and B&H list it - but out of stock.
Spares and repair Z-1/p or those for sale - most have the eyecup missing and the baseplate around the battery opening cracked - even the supposedly 'mint' items from Japan.

I eventually used one from an MZ5. Not ideal and not a great fit, but works.

The cracked battery chamber was fixed with gorilla glue.

I use JJC branded ones that I got from Amazon Spain but I don't see them on Amazon UK, though there are a multitude of others and maybe the JJC ones can be sourced elsewhere. They are fine and have the added advantage that on the Z1 they block the opening of the film door, helping to prevent accidental opening. The downside is that they block the opening of the film door, and have to be slid slightly upwards to change film.

I have two Z-1 s, my original that I bought new in the last century, and a replacement I bought when "old faithful" was no longer working.
Over the weekend I will have a look at the eyepieces and if I can donate one I will.
smc and Pwynnej may have to arm wrestle for the prize

I followed someone's suggestion to try to fit a more recent JJC EP-FR eyecup just to get over the nakedness.
It fits, needs a bit of persuasion, and everytime you need to open the camera back it has to be moved.
BUT.... it is better than nothing. So, I am happy.

Would 3d printing be viable?

Someone on Pentaxforums has done some 3D printing, it is not as polished as the original item but as the EP-FR is a good fit and to tell you the truth does not look out of place on the Z-1/5 that to me is a good long-term option. I did ask for images of the 3D version but got nothing back.
