I don't think anyone has made this point yet but, given I have feet in the Nikon camp where the mantra is don't bother using a TC with a zoom lens, you really need a lens that is optically on top of its game paired with an optimal TC to get acceptable shots with that combination - you just need one sub-optimal component and all the flaws are magnified.

I use my 2 Nikon TCs with the 500 mm prime only; when I was looking for a fast >400mm tele one of the options was the 200-400 VR or VR2, on their own they are excellent lenses but a combination with the F-mount TC was not at all recommended...I have the 80-400G lens which I know from experience is sub-par with the TC.

So, I would crop in shot as others have said.

K-mount is alive, K-series has ended. They've not discontinued all the lenses.

So, no K1iii or K3iv.

I've got a 1959 era Shneider Kreuznach Xenar 50mm f2.8 which was standard on the Kodak Retina Reflex S I got from my Dad.... always considered an excellent lens although the camera has long ceased to work. I'll have to have a look to see if I can get it attached to my current camera gear....

I'm still waiting for K3 Mk5 or K1 Mk4.

I was all set to do the partial from Richmond Park, with the hope that approaching/departing flight at LHR might intersect with the sun. Then realising it was too late to get a Solar filter, as all the reliable sources telling me that even stacking a BigStopper on top of a SuperStopper was risky due to the UV/IW wavelengths. To be used on a Nikon D500 or Z8 with 80-400G (longest Pentax lens is 200 mm). I'll only be 82 in 2050.

DG is optimised for DSLR, just a change in coatings compared to the previous versions. Quite what it means for image quality I don't know.
