Is it because of his advice to either learn to use your tools or to get different ones? It's good advice for all sorts of things, not only cameras.
Or is it because he states that buying sophisticated equipment and then not learn how to use it effectively seems not very bright to him? Does it seem smart to you?
As I said, I cannot see an insult in what he wrote. He made four statements and I wholeheartedly subscribe to each of those...

I can see why Darkmunk's shot won, it certainly has great potential. I was a bit disappointed, though, that it was so "hastily cobbled together". He had another week to go and could have done this great shot justice by putting it together with more TLC (tender loving care). The haste does show in between the twigs and roots where some areas of the sky behind have been adjusted and others haven't.
Shame on you, Darkmunk, for that. And "well done" at the same time for this fantastic shot. I'm looking forward to see this beauty at different times over the coming year.
My favourite was Martin's "Opening Pandora's box....."
On to Christmas then...

I bought a new Tablet. But without all what you mentioned. (I guess there are different possibilities with diff prices.)
So, no Elements etc.
PS. I am member of the party "make the photo with the camera" - Just too lazy for PC
If you don't want to work on your pics, what do you need a graphics tablet for::
Now I'm confused...

I had a pretty good idea of which one I wanted to submit or so I thought. Looking through the archives I found about 7 possible entries (and these all were taking the theme literally).
And then I had to shoot the entry for the fortnightly competition as well... and get some prints ordered...

I think that your problem has been misjudging the size of hamper required or number of bottles needed

Taken 7. December with K20D, Sigma 105/2.8 EX DG Macro, AF360FGZ at grazing angle. Joint of a staircase step (yes, that spiral staircase again).
EXIF should be intact.

But it's always a little slow with the huge ones...
Of course it's not a bribe but a small token of appreciation for your judging

p.s. very commendable that people take the time to comment but we do not want to possibly influence the judge

Now, most printing equipment used in North America is either manufactured in Germany or Japan, and conform to the Europeans standards, but old habits are hard to kill.
My preferred printer offers e.g.
20 x 30 cm prints. A look at the table of print sizes reveals it is 203 x 305 mm big. Why is that? Well,
8 inches x 25.4 mm/inch = 203.2 mm
12 inches x 25.4 mm/inch = 304.8 mm
So a European 20 x 30 cm print is actually a 8 x 12 inch print.
And they state their resolution, of course, in ppi or dpi. And this is a common thing with photo printers.
Yes, there are some metric formats as well as some from the A series on offer, but the most common sizes are still essentially imperial.
The empire strikes back!
May the force be with you...
