Excellent series.
3 and 4 are my favourites, if pressed I would go for 4.

Cheers,

I'm sorry for you, Lilly (though not as sorry as for all the poor people having been hurt or lost relatives or friends).

When I followed the news I was thinking of you. As I didn't know when you were planning to travel (only that it was within this weekly competition period) I am now relieved to hear that you have not been harmed.

A tough decision you had to take; I think under the circumstances it is best to postpone (but not to cancel altogether).

Now we have to wait a bit longer for the Lilly photos from India. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Ahh, I always wondered what skinheads would drive. Now I know the answer: Polski Fiat

Nothing wrong with the Fokker (or with prop planes) at all.
I wonder, though, if you asked if you were allowed to take pictures. Usually on the approach they tell you to switch off all electronic equipment.
I am aware that the chance of anything interfering with the plane's electronics is incredibly slim (although greater than 0) but I really have a pet hate of people not following safety instructions on a plane.

Surely you had the permission

Hyram,

yes, I did. I was still working there when the name changed to National Oceanography Centre. It was a good place to work and I thouroughly enjoyed the time there.

Tony,

I always enjoy the English sense of humour (I lived in Southampton for 6 years and even lived through the famous 5:1 football match )

I do know many Germans who have a good sense of humour, but of course I also know the odd one who does live up to the stereotype

Welcome Tony,

don't listen to Hardgravity, just write in German...

Well, while a few might understand it the majority wouldn't, so it might be better if you keep it in English.
BTW: Do you know this clip?

Especially funny for non-Germans
