Hi Norbert, I'm sure you'll love the K30!
My wife doesn't mind me taking my gear when we go out together, its just when I stop to use it...

I think my highest ever would have been at first day of the Clacton Airshow last year, where I took around 2150 photos, followed shortly after by another 130 of a distant sailing ship passing the windfarm.
That would certainly be above average for me!

August last year proved to be a very high shooting month for me, possibly in part due to the very drab weather earlier in the year, but helped considerably by attending more events & travelling more... I had to drive to Scotland on the second day of the airshow passing more photo opportunities, but without much time to capture them

In the last 3 years since getting a DSLR I think I've taken a total of around 28,500 (using 5 or more cameras). So although I'm a fairly high volume shooter I don't think my record level is too indicative of normal usage.

A highly respectable set, though it's a shame to have lost the back of cars 41 & 78.
I like the 'handlebar mustache', nice to see appropriate headgear

You'll be hard pressed to get as much practice as Simon does!

The marking on many older lenses will be designed for full frame (film) use where the image is often only printed as a 6x4.
These days only a portion of that image is recorded and that is often viewed bigger so it's not surprising the markings are inaccurate for modern use. I used to find them quite reasonable in my film days, though I guess if I'd been shooting slides for projection it might have been different.
The difference is due to changed requirements of the circle of confusion, due to greater enlargement, rather than inherent inaccuracy.

A fellow Pentax User forum member or just a user of Pentax?

I've met at least 10 of the second over the last couple of years but only two of the former, and those arranged thru the forum. Shame the Whitby/Catterick region is so far

I think I'd be really pleased to manage just one of those frames!

When I first filled up it was 50p for a tank-full! Mind you I did have to run the tank down to near the reserve to get the minimum sales amount (half gallon) in the tank.

I've had cheaper refills since - we used to get 1 litre samples from each race car we tested, which left enough for several refills in a year. Now the slops are unlikely to be more than a couple of gallons a year.

A great shot of Rubens, and close enough to a driver to fill the bit that seemed to be missing

Possibly your best set yet Simon ....
Excellent shots but as the the target here is so high I'm not sure I'd agree with Mike-P (at least without the Possibly)
4 & 8 are my favorites, but I miss the personal touch you normally get with the driver's portraits.

I can't quite compete with Howard. Up until 1995, for our main data processing system, we were using a Hewlett Packard 2113b (which was brought in 1979 for £30,000). It had a whole 32K due to the company spending extra for 'magic memory'.

The system worked rather well automatically correcting for gradually drifting times - something the new systems don't do! It was however quite a pain after a power cut as a series of binary numbers had to be manually loaded into the registers to get it to read the 640k tape drives & boot up.
