Thank you!

I have a diesel heater in my van, but these were shot in my back garden. So I was sat in my living room gawking at my tablet controlling the kit!
'Sneeky' !

But what a good idea !

Best regards

Another fantastic set of images.
I do hope you are wrapping up well these freezing cold nights ?

This is an excellent little set - quite eerie to see it at night with no people around
Many thanks LennyBloke.
'After hours' has the great advantage that you have the freedom to chose your PoV without having anyone blocking the best view !

Stimulated by John Riley's feature on Portmeirion I re-visited my shots from our holiday there in 2022.
What Day Visitors miss out on is the magical atmosphere at night. Some from that holiday are included in John's selection of members shots but here are a few more.
All were taken with my K1ii and DFA 24-70.

One option on the aperture motor is to fire off lots of shots in high speed burst mode.
I've heard of some success with this waking it back up.

It's a temporary fix, if it's early days. If it's more serious, like it's failed outright, then this wont change a thing.

As above though, not saying this is definitely what it is, there are other potential reasons.
It happened to me though, and after reading a bit it is a known fault with the model.
My K50 had not been used for over a year but I decided to take it on holiday as a 2nd camera. We stopped en route and I gave the K50 an outing.

The result was the dreaded black screen !
I tried manual mode with a low f # & high ISO & got a visible image..
I then suspected I had got the solenoid problem so when I reached my destination I searched the PU forum and found this suggestion.

I put the K50 on sport mode and fired off several quick succession shots in live mode so I could see what was happening.

BINGO ! After this treatment the K50 appeared to be fully working.
To be doubly sure I also fitted the AA battery adaptor in place of the Pentax Li battery.

I have used this camera lots of times over 3days without problem.

Hopefully it was simply a case of mechanical sticking after a long period of un use ?

Many thanks for the tip !

You don't mention what lens you are using. I have had the odd lens, (my DFA 100 macro when new for example), where the aperture has been slow to to close down - leading to over-exposure. Indeed I had to send that particular lens in for repair.
I had the same ‘sticky aperture’ problem with my DFA 100 Macro so sent it for cleaning and this cured the problem.
Good luck with your problem.

Lovely work.
But I’m amazed no one has commented about the shape of the lake in the distance having a horses head shape ! Spooky !

That was well worth the effort - as they say 'you won't win if you don't take part' and that is a winner. I especially like the capture of the raindrops.

Did he get through it alive this time. Because he does not have a good track record when it comes to TV shows
This was the first episode of a storyline that I hope will continue?
It ended with us guessing if he's a good guy or a bad one ? He claimed to be 'Mr Nice Guy' !
Watch this space - as they say !
