Haven't been to the Scarborough PS but took family to the Youth Hostel there by the river in the old mill house!

I have such an attachment:it was given to me on a Pentax Club trip years ago by a lady with a Canon T70 - it has a 52mm filter thread which fits the 18-55mm Pentax kit kens on my K10D. It is a'Sunagor Super Wider Semi Fish-eye' Here is one which made the Romford Recorder newspaper last week with a story about a girls'soccer team that was going to be turned off their pitch because residents in the houses behind didn't like the noise!

I was given a Kodak Aero-Ektar 178mm f2.5 : I have dated it at 1943 :I had a mount made to take my Pentacon Six ( before I got my Pentax 6x7)and use it to focus with the P6 bellows unit. It is pin sharp stopped down to f11 or f16 for portraiture and also at f4 for more distant work. It is 'Radioactive'I discovered;there is some radioactive component in it but I have been assured safe levels to keep near by me as I work in the darkroom.

Serendipity: I was evacuated to Rochdale, Delemere Road: when the Germans started bombing up there from airfields in Norway my Mum said we might just as well go back to east London, which we did!

Yes, the one of the Moon Lady is not so sharp-it was pitch dark and I couldn't see the aperture on my 80-200mm Prinxflez lens I had on -trying to set it at full aperture f4.5 and the shutter speed was too slow so I have got some double imaging also on the one of the lanterns with my boy in - 1/10th second + flash (The newspapers I sent them to are not out until tomorrow, Friday, but other press photos also show double imaging from their Nikons and Canons used by the staff snappers!)

I have a Russian MTO 500mm mirror lens I got from a camera dealers in the 1970's called'Brocks'(gone broke now!)and used it for cricket on my screw Spotmatic,S3 and ES cameras. It was £69 I remember.I still have it in its wooden box in my darkroom, complete with a selection of filters which fit my 400mm f4.5 Pentax-A lens.

The mention of the Northern Lights brings back memories of the Pentax Club trip to Iceland in 1984 with Peter and Liz Cox leading it;we camped out; got to a high viewpoint, saw the lights and the smell of WHISKY wafted out of the Cox's tent!
