I agree with Bob. Lovely concept and clever lighting. Nice clothes too!

Niklas... D-range and HDR are two separate functions. HDR is not available on the K20D.

Canon Nikon and Olympus all offer viable alternatives, if it wasn't for the few bits of Pentax gear I already had, and if I had a budget that was a bit more generous, who knows!

But I'm very happy with Pentax, they are a smaller company so have at times lagged behind the others slightly... BUT they seem to have an excellent ethos of providing the very best kit they can to enthusiast photographers with realistic budgets (my K200D is a case in point), and not cynically limiting reverse-compatibility of lenses etc. As opposed to some others who rely on the 'trickle down effect' of credibility from their expensive pro models, and actually offer rather mediocre entry level cameras.

Yeah NimHs are the way to go, preferably those that come 'pre-charged' e.g. Eneloops or ReCyko. (BTW although they come precharged, mine seem to need topping up first!)

I used to use Alkalines in my DL2 quite a lot, but they didn't last terribly long compared to NinHs and I think the newer cameras are a bit greedier, with shake reduction, dust removal and bigger screens etc.

This certainly seems to be the case with my K200D, which got through a pack of Tesco High-power AA's in about 20 shots.

Mine has a little lever you push to release the lens. It is a bit stiff though. Can you upload some pics perhaps?

Surely, perhaps apart from macro, the dear old 50mm was one of the most popular primes? Beloved for its IQ, speed and useful 80m efl?

Edit: Or maybe it's popularity was simply down to the hitherto low price!

Sorry - I obviously didn't read your post well enough. It uses adapter rings which are screw in.

Howabout Kood: link.

Only £3.99, which is a fair price for what, after all, is a flimsy bit of plastic!

Mind you, you now have George to deal with although compared to a grumpy old man like me he's a pussycat!
Sorry Mike. When it comes to needlessly excoriating comments, you're not even in the same league as George! Bless him.

You've already got a 17-70mm zoom which is probably better. The Kit lens is also better. Not one of Pentax's best nowhere near the quality of the A series 24mm.
But as a dinky 28mm f2.8 prime lens, it beats both of those hands down by definition

When you get the lens, do a comparison test and post the results on here... would be interesting to see if Shim's right.
