£39 very well spent, Im sure. Use the green button for pseudo aperture-priority in manual mode.

I prefer no. 2 as I can see the athlete's face. For me that's slightly more important than perfect framing. Also the BG is a bit less cluttered.

I hope it works in wireless with the K200D!

Ah well, at £90 its a low risk investment.

I just mentioned this occurence to a girl I work with. She fully agrees with the security guards' actions as, "All paedophiles are men on their own".
Ridiculous. Did you remind her of those female nursery workers recently tried for child abuse?

We've gone crazy in this country. Meanwhile the media and advertising push back the boundaries of sexualising young children, and no-one bats an eye.

Remember how the News of the World published long lists of supposed offenders, then shows topless pictures of teenage girls. Shameful hyposcrisy!

Lol... I noticed this week a disgruntled Nikon D300 owner wrote in to Angela, complaining about the favourable comparison of the K7 with his camera, specifically the new HDR function. Angela had to put him in his place.

Looks like Pentax owners aren't the only defensive ones!

The first question I have is, do you think that amateurs in particular are swayed by the lens range and the existence of expensive and exotic designs?
They probably are, cos virtually every Pentax review I have read has suggested that Pentax's lens line up is limited. It should not be an issue for amateurs, as Pentax and the third party manufacturers offer all the lenses you could want - and more; but the reviewers always seem to assume the reader has the same requirements as a top-level pro, or is a fanatical completist who needs to cover every conceivable focal length....

As far as exotic, that's a good word for Pentax's DA Ltd prime lenses, some of which are very unusual and pretty for modern lenses.

I have a K200D, and two factors I took into consideration were that it ran on AA's and that it is compact. A grip would kind of negate both those features!

The MkII is still less than £50 last time I checked... certainly the best value lens in Pentax's current line up! I read a comparison review of the two lenses and felt it was worth 'trading up' from the MkI erroneously supplied with my K200D.

The differences are slight, mainly to do with corner resolution, but as I got £40 for the MkI on ebay, I thought it was worth the extra tenner.

That one's been out a while, so I'm sure most of us have read it already. It is a very positive review though (as is dpreview's preview). I especially like the line:
