Iīm with Chris here and I need to say I like the second better in all respects, exept for those powerlines. The composition makes me feel more present in some way and the warmth coming from that shot is better in my humble opinion.

Overall, what a beautiful sunset you caught there Pete!

Oh, I really like the sun against the clouds in the second one also.

Where is the DOF preview button located on the MX? Just got me one without the owners manuals, so I need to know.

Thanks,

On this note, has anyone heard any rumours or gossip that this problem might be fixed with the next firmware - I had heard the the next upgrade would be a sizeable one and not just a tweak... Firmware V2.0 ?
Yes, that would be nice to know as I find myself searching for A-versions of my old beloved (K, M and M42) SMC lenses. Itīs not that fun to swap them, but due to this metering problem, I donīt know what to do exept for this.

Funny thing, my 350D shooting buddy is interested in some of my old lenses as he has no metering problem at all with K to EOS, or M42 to EOS adapters, using my SMC aperure ring lenses on his Canon. Yes we are both of the old school of manual exposure and focusing.

He says its strange that these Pentax lenses are more compatible with his Canon than with my K10D.... Do you think heīs right?

I'm off to report this to through the appropriate channels....
Matt.

Iīm delighted to hear that you are passing the word on... I would love to see my K10D get an update to be the camera I thought I was buying, as I have some good old SMC glass without the A setting.

Pleease Pentax....

It feels like there is something quite tense in this matter over at Pentax, as this issue is not mentioned anywhere (more than what the users are discussing on related forums) and when Iīm trying to get some info from Pentax (at least here in Scandinavia), Itīs difficult to get a reply to my emails.

I see that Pentax Sweden had added some info regarding the use of K and M lenses on digital bodies with the text; "metering errors may occour", which would be misleading if the earlier DSLRīs and the K100D/110D does not suffer from this metering error.
Also, itīs not specifically a K and M lens matter either as all lenses with an aperture ring gets this metering error when using the aperture ring. May it be FA, F, A, K, M, or M42 lenses.

My tripod is collecting dust since I shot a sharp K10D image on free hand (leaning against a wall) with my SMC Tak 300/4 at 1/30....

Thatīs cool!

But maybe the word has been spread that the K10D is not capable of correct metering using the aperture ring, so youīll need a Canon to get proper exposure with your old Pentax lenses?

Please donīt shoot me......

My first K10D was a bad one. The camera went ballistic and had itīs own life. Picīs came out really wieard and it sucked the power from the battery when switched off. I returned it the day after and got a new one that works. Other than exposure errors when using the aperture ring, that is...

I got my A 50/1.4 from Matt here on the forum and if the F and FA 50/1.4 has the same optical formula as my A...Go get one!
