My images coming from the K10D is leaning to the right.

Checking and a straight line (horizon or whatever) in the veiwfinder on a tripod and shoothing dead straight results in a leaning picture. This issue came up on the Swedish forum and it seems that qiute a few camera bodies suffer from this as the repair deparment in Sweden has gotten a lot of retuned K10D bodies due to this.

Anyone here who recognizes this here on the board?

Thank you,

// Mats

Is Pentax going to fix this metering problem on the K10D?
Doesnīt seem so. The problem has been recognized since the model came on the market and itīs well known, so as Pentax have not done anything about it yet, it seems like itīll stay. I find it a bit strange as correct exposure is essential in photography.

so you wont be needing that 300 A* F4 anymore then? I'm sure I could see my way clear to disposing of it for you, and at no charge too........
Oh man, I need it very much! Really bad actually ....

What would the going price be on the market for this one in superb condition?

As much or as little as anybody is prepared to pay for it. These are as rare as hen's teeth and in good condition, will always be a sought after lens. Price tag will probably be in thousands of pounds, rather than hundreds.
Oops... Well I listed my SMC 15mm (with the sought after "4" on the distance scale) for sale and the guy offered me this one as payment. Heīs collecting SMC (K) lenses and I wanted the 400. Win-win situation as I see it. And I still have my A-version of the 15mm, so....

Superb lens, by the way!

Iīm kind of an outdoor guy and I often carry a long lens in the backpack. Yes, they are heavy, bulky and all that, but I find it convinient to have one with me anyway (no kidding )

Now this absolutely wonderful, shiny, autofocused beauty turned up and I cannot get it out of my mind. FA* 400/5.6.....

I already own an A* 300/4 and an A- 1.4 converter so I probably shouldnīt be interested anyway, if it wasnīt for the autofocus.

What would you do?

I have the lovely 31mm and I have no plans for replacing it with a zoom lens. The 31 LTD is among the best glass Iīve owned (and I was a Contax/Zeiss user back in the film days).

Primes "talk to me" in another way than a zoom and I really donīt know why.
But one thing is for sure; The best images in my albums are shot with primes.

Cool stuff. I hear the history whispeing in the wind....

But it seems like it appeals mostly to us who used the original stuff and appreciates the retro look for "old times sake".

And hey; SMC Takumar DA 40/2.8......
