K10D anti-shake with monopod or beanbag

Hi chaps,
I'm thinking of investing in a K10D but was wondering what were your first impresions of the anti-shake.
I take mainly widlife shots with a Sigma 100-300EX F4, sometimes with a 1.7 pentax converter. I use a monopod or beanbag to support the lens and have read if you use a tripod the anti-shake should be turned off is this the same for a monopod or beanbag?
Has anyone taken any shots with a monopod with the anti-shake on and did it help or hinder?

All I can tell you is the anti shake definately works in hand. I however switch it off as advised when using a tripod.

The anti-shake should be turned off for long exposure tripod shots.
But, I reckon it'll be fine on a monopod or tripod with sensible shutter speeds.

I've used the K10D with a 1.7x and 320mm handheld at 1/50s and got a pin sharp image
(But then I have a steady hand anyway )

I use the K100D on a monopod with the Sigma 170-500 and the SR switched on and it works fine. Use your body as the other two "tripod legs" and brace yourself accordingly.

My tripod is collecting dust since I shot a sharp K10D image on free hand (leaning against a wall) with my SMC Tak 300/4 at 1/30....

I'll second Mike, I have used my Bigma on a monopod with the SR on, as for a beanbag I assume it will be as equally effective, unless your going to position the camera on the beanbag and use a remote release, in which case turn the SR off.

I managed some hand held shots at 200mm and 1/4sec on Wednesday. Can't pretend they all came out tac sharp, but most were sharp enough for 6x4 at least.
