Just had a thought A badge saying PU might be open to abuse by a small dab of tippex, so maybe the full name, Pentax User, might be less vulnerable to the likes of Adidas Man.

Agree with you. My post about Avatars is along the same lines, but less ambitious. At this stage I think a small embroidered badge would have more applications. Would Pentax Marketing dub up a contribution to the setting up costs? Are we looking at a PU badge or a plain Pentax Red and Black jobby? I would personally favour a PU embroidered badge. One way or another coming out into the open and not just hiding behind a computer. We have much to be proud of. No end to it, Pentax cuff links and a red and black cumerbund [is that how you spell it:]

Problem with Hats is the peak! I have to put mine on back to front to look in the viewfinder. Maybe a small PU badge on the back. or a hat with the peak at the back. Embroidered badge, small and tastfull sounds a good idea. Range of applications.

With almost 10,000 members we must, from time to time, pass each other as we walk through woods and landscapes, attend air shows etc. We take a sideways glance at the equipment a fellow photographer is carrying. Nod, smile and go on our way.
I have produced a copy of my Avatar, The Prancing Moose, 5x5cm, in bright yellow, encapsulated it and hung from my camera bag. Should you spot it, it would be great to meet you face to face.
Anybody else prepared to give it a try?

I have voted yes as a link. I feel that several versions of the original, side by side, is confusing and turns it into more of a competion. I would prefer to form a view, without prejudging or influence. Then compare it with the views of others before making a comment or suggestions. More often than not, I make no comment, but learn a great deal from the comments and suggestions of others and viewing the edited image is best.
I guess most are happy with constructive critism, a bit of tuition and encouragement, just occaisionally it appears a little harsh, this maybe more to do with the 'tone' and personalities. The existing system suits me fine A picture paints a thousand words

I would guess that a proffesional would want a holiday 'Away from the Job'. As an amateur I do all the usual family stuff but am always looking for the unusual or visually pleasing subject. Holidays often provide me with an interesting location and the opportunity to take both snaps and photgraphs. I have moved on from the 'Two Christmas's' on one roll of film. All carefully put in the family album. I now take hundreds of Photographs and bin most of them Perfection seems to be a disappearing horizon.

Never had need to use the service. When I ordered my K10 I had to wait 3 months for delivery. There was no UK stock, but SRS eventually got a delivery and delivered. I think at the time the marketing was in front of the production. I hope that Mean Time To Failure is going to be in excess of five years. My Pentax Prog.A has never had to be repaired and is still going strong.
