Niether do I need rants from the lonely, conceited or arrogant.
Bling is in the eye of the beholder. Just as a good picture is.
Sadly these sites attract the, would be, bully boy. Smilies do not hide the anger and frustrations.
I would like to thank all those who have been so generous with their help and advice, keep up the good work.
So I shall go elsewhere, with my Pentax and whatever else takes my fancy.

And No, N & C won't bring out something competing, because they don't need to. That market share would be to small compared to the R & D involved.

My Mobile phone has a programme called Vista with OS Maps 1:50,000 and 1:25,000. Linked to its internal GPS. Camera Photos can be added to the map very easily, leaves a camera icon on the map. Also tracks your route, leaving a track on 'The Map' recording time of day etc. Zooms into to approx. 500 yards to the inch. Excellent for recce purposes.I have a other routine. I paid a one off licence fee for the OS maps to cover my area of interest,
SW,S and SE England. Phone is a Nokia N95, 5 megapixel camera with tessar 2.8/5.6 lens.
It can also make phone calls

Well not really, preservation of digital data, I appreciate your point about format, tif. If all images are of my making then copyright should not be an issue for me. Mean Time to Failure of electronically recorded data bothers me as there is no experience as yet. Not enough years have passed!
