Sorry for being the spoil here. I voted no. But I hate the idea of marking my inconspicuous bag as a potential target.
I would buy it and use it if it was available as a keyring. (suggestion ?)
Martin.

Why would we put a lapel badge on a camera bag?
To make up for Martin, I'll buy two then.

It's not giving free advertising to a brand any more than carrying a camera with Pentax on the front is. Look at it as showing you are part of a club and a community and making yourself identifyable to other club members?
Best regards, John

I'd like the badge just to put on my bowls gear.
What about a stick on version.

With the current state of affairs.....How big do you estimate the chance would be, to run into a fellow member on the other side of the pond. Why would we put a lapel badge on a camera bag?
To make up for Martin, I'll buy two then.
I'll wear the keyring version with pride, though

Agree with you. My post about Avatars is along the same lines, but less ambitious. At this stage I think a small embroidered badge would have more applications. Would Pentax Marketing dub up a contribution to the setting up costs? Are we looking at a PU badge or a plain Pentax Red and Black jobby? I would personally favour a PU embroidered badge. One way or another coming out into the open and not just hiding behind a computer. We have much to be proud of. No end to it, Pentax cuff links and a red and black cumerbund [is that how you spell it:]It's not giving free advertising to a brand any more than carrying a camera with Pentax on the front is. I would be able to see off that Adidas Man.

Just had a thought A badge saying PU might be open to abuse by a small dab of tippex, so maybe the full name, Pentax User, might be less vulnerable to the likes of Adidas Man.

I already have the Pentax User logo on a couple of T shirts, T shirt printing paper does a nice job, although the wife say's I'm mad, could be a little problem with copyright though, I only wear the T shirts in the garden,

Actually, I'd prefer a PU T-shirt than a badge. But then the colour / size / style discussion starts

If enough users were interested we could ask Pentax User if it would be viable to produce a badge, embroidered or otherwise.
So get voting. would you buy a Pentax User badge, yes or no.
