I've not found your post but the stealthy approach might have been to present some pretty good captures of wildlife/birds with your new K-7 as an introduction

Having said that I can see that it is predominantly a Canon user site with some strong held opinions so you would probably still have got shot down in flames

As John says it does look a little direct (your post), however the responses are not too damning.
When you get your kit why not have a go at trying to win them over with a few nice captures

Was just trying to give them gentle wind up just let them know we are around !

Any comments I can put to counter the " lack of decent lenses" on Pentax part ?

By the way ..I am at work and not too busy..what are your excuses for being on here at this time of day LOL

Read the posts, all perfectly valid and reasonable.
If you must be evangelical about your brand, you can say you can get get FA* longer lenses which are pretty good, or weather sealed DA* up to 300mm.
There are also third party makers which I'm sure Canon and Nikon users also buy from.

IMO, don't bother trying to turn them over to Pentax, its not going to happen, not based on rhetoric at least.
Enjoy that forum and learn from it.

No, don't try to wind them up, even gently. There's no point and someone will escalate it into an argument.

I don't intend to frequent there often John but it seemed an obvious place to look if the "birding " became an interest.

It's a difficult area of photography, so well worth getting to grips with.

Thanks for the link Howard, I thought the replies to your post were all very good,
I found the raw converters thread to be very good and spent some time there last night, Sorry to drift a little ot but converting raw has never been a strong point for me but I'm waiting for ACDsee pro to update for the K-7.

Dave.

Dave.

why not mail them Dave ? is there a reason it wouldn't be compatible ? it supports all the other digital Pentax models.

Question..what is the usual approach to format when taking photos.?

Raw , Raw + Jpeg ?

and I cant see why one would use other than max resolution every time ?
