Still getting to grips with RAW - a couple of questions.
1. I have recently purchased Elements 7 and upgraded Camera RAW to version 5.3. So all up to date. My DNG file loads into camera RAW and I am presented with the option of editing straight away or I can open and go straight into Elements. So - which is better - editing in Camera RAW or in Elements? (or both?).
2.In Camera RAW I can Calibrate my Camera - the default setting is ACR 4,4. There are options for Embedded, ACR 3,7 and Pentax 1.0. Switching from one to the other does not seem to make any difference to the photo. So should I leave this setting on ACR 4,4 or use any of the other settings - and what do they mean?
Cheers

The Mallard 'Gang Rape' is good - plenty of movement. I also like the intense colour on the 2 ducks shot.
The first one is quite funny - the swan seems to have 2 heads - one looking around and the other - well - better not say!!

Looks a great book John. Any sales yet?
I've seen a few examples of Blurb books and am thinking of doing one for me and my family.
Seems to have plenty of scope to personalise the book.

Agree with the others - inside photo is best. The lighting and DOF is good.

Thank you all for your help. As a complete beginner using RAW I think I am starting to get an understanding of what to do with my RAW files.
I think for the immediate future I'll use PEF, edit and save as JPEG and keep the original RAW files.
I do not have a compression program - can anyone recommend a good (free) one please?
Thanks again for all the help
