Thanks - I'll do that - I'll also look at the Pentax Browser - I never loaded it when I got my K10D!!!

Hi Carl - slightly off the subject but I see you refer to a PEF Viewer. I have recently started using RAW/PEF and I would love a full screen viewer so I could quickly dispose of those photos I did not wish to retain.
I can do this to a certain extent 'in camera' but for the rest it is a bit arduous to load individual PEF photos into Elements 7 and than cancel the unsatisfactory ones and go into my photos to delete!
There may be an obvious solution eg the Viewer you refer to. What's it's full name, how do I get it and does it cost money!!!

Like Ali I format every time I download the photos on to my computer(and after backing up - only once! - do I need another hard drive??). I do this with the card in the camera - presumably it doesn't matter whether you use a card reader or download via the camera?

Thanks Scott - have had a quick read of the reviews - at present not too sure which would be the better for me - guess price will come into it!!!

Both reviews are good and presumably work well with the Pentax Shake reduction (I have a K10D).

Can't afford one just yet but soon I will have to make up my mind!

Thanks again.

Mmmm - which is best - apart from the weight??

Must re-read some reviews.

When you refer to the Bigma - is it the Sigma 150-500 lens?

If so will be interested to see the results - I'm thinking of getting one.

Thanks all

Your comments have certainly helped me understand a little more about RAW. Guess I've still got a way to go but first impressions are that (and I'm sure no one is surprised at this) RAW produces better pictures!!!

I think I'll do the same. Only problem is that if I use a UV filter with a screw in polariser I get vignetting at the wider end of my 18-250 Pentax lens.

Guess I'll have to slow down as appropriate!! Take off the UV filter and screw on the polariser. Unless it's an action shot I'm advised that slowing down a bit can help with composition etc.

I tend to use AV but revert to P when appropriate. I rarely use manual and if I need more/less light I use EV - EV on the K10D being very easy to access.
