Love the shots - I was in SRS a couple of days ago and tried out the 150-500 - as you say these big lenses are heavy - guess the shake reduction helps - I'll have to get one of these lenses sometime.
As Roy aske, would love to know the f number, speed and focal length of the photos.
Think I like the Meercat best but I also like the Gorilla with his arm casually resting on the log.

Welcome from me too Conky. In June last year I spent 10 days on Lewis and Harris on a photo shoot. Fabulous scenery. Loved it. Very short nights - was up before dawn and to bed after sunset - not much sleep - unless it rained!! (which it did sometimes - thank goodness).
Cheers

Yes - I've also done that Pete - guess I must slow down a bit as one does when using a tripod. It's too easy sometimes to 'snap' a photo rather than 'take' a photo if you know what I mean!

That is a great shot - in the right place at the right time and making the most of it.

Sometimes when I use the Fn button I somehow turn the Shake Reduction switch off and can take quite a few photos without realising it or noticing the 'hand' has disappeared from the viewfinder.
I am training myself to be more careful by looking at the SR switch after using the Fn button and checking the view finder but sometimes I forget. I think these 2 important features are a bit too close together (I don't have fat fingers!).
Does anyone else have this problem....or...is it just me????

A while back I purchased a Seagull Right Angle Finder and it came with 4-5 fittings one of which fitted my K10D. I purchased it from SRB-Griturn.
Hope that helps. It cost £60.

I'll certainly have a go at 1/6th if I don't have my tripod with me. How did Daniel manage with 2/3 seconds???

Yup - I'm a sucker for waterfalls too. Lovely shot. I've gone down to 1/20th with hand held and SR and the shots were sharp - never tried 1/6th though. Seems to work well.
