I think the only weather resistant wide angles for FF would be the old FA* 24mm f/2 or the FA* 28-70mm f/2.8 but the US forum tested a copy of that recently and it was awful at 70mm.

I haven't been using medium format as much recently but on Friday I developed a couple of rolls of B&W and yesterday I scanned them. One of them was my first roll of Acros in 120 and I've discovered I like it more than T-Max 100. Just now the 645 contains a roll of Rollei RPX 100 I picked up in Germany almost two years ago, that's hard to find here so I'm looking forward to seeing how it comes out. I remember the film shop in Berlin - I could have quite happily spent a small fortune in there picking up films I can't get in Spain or in the UK but my wife was there looking over my shoulder asking why I needed so many different types.....

I may have a trip to Paris next month (fingers crossed) and if it goes ahead I plan to leave the DSLR at home and take the 645 and a 35mm SLR.

As you can see, I still love the shallow depth of field that this format can give.

I think this one must have been with the 150mm lens on extension tubes

All these Epsons have very similar innards. Mine is a V500, so slightly newer than that one. Below is the sharpest scan from a 35mm negative that I've managed recently and I've never managed anything significantly sharper from it. This is likely around the sharpest you're likely to be able to get. Getting the colour right is also very difficult with these scanners.

Make sure you get a new one with guarantee because a lot of people complain that the AC adapter fails after a while (mine is fine though).

The P30 doesn't have a film rewind button, the film has to be manually re-wound. This is done in the "traditional" way of most manual SLRs by lifting the lever on the top of the rewind knob (on the left of the camera as you would hold it) and turning clockwise until you feel the last of the film re-enter the canister.

IF I decide to get a K-1 do I go the whole hog and get a new lens as well? I have an old 18-80mm in perfect condition but of course doesn't have an electronic focus motor and has mixed reviews, so would this be a false economy?
I assume you mean 28-80. I doubt an old kit lens will be able to really take advantage of the IQ the K-1 will offer. I'd recommend at least a fast 50 to go on the K-1.

If anyone is still concerned about the strength of the K-1 screen, have a look at this: https://www.facebook.com/ImagesPhotoPentax/videos/1659013341005951/

He's holding the screen itself, not the panel mounted directly on the four legs.

I bought this as my backup body for our forthcoming holiday to Vietnam. On seeing it my wife says she'll use it - so there's one more Pentaxian out there!
I hope you have at least one WR lens and camera and a very good water resistant backpack or bag for all the camera gear.

Vietnam is wonderful and beautiful but when it rains it rains.

Ha ha ha... LBA is Lens Buying Addiction.

Closely related to CBA - Camera Buying Addiction. A subset of that is FCBA (Film Camera Buying Addiction) which often comes combined with FBA (Film Buying Addiction).

As you can see, it's a very slippery slope. I've been on the slide for years.
