More great images.
I spent three hours in Père Lachaise on my last visit. There is just too many images available there that need a photo,

I've already started buy darkroom kit to do my own medium format films. I've a full 35mm set-up but have been wanting to do medium format processing for a while now. This thread, for me has been the push I needed.

Best regards
Many thanks. I'm glad to push people in the direction of using film more.

Here is some Fuji 160NS from the same trip. I wish I'd had more time in the cemetery. I was about to put the 645 away and shoot some B&W 35mm when I realised that the cemetery was about to close (at 6pm).

This last shot was underexposed by a stop as I forgot to reset the ISO from 320 to 125, I'm glad to see it came out well.

The week before last I was in Paris for a few days. The weekend was spent with the wife in the centre, Montmartre and the Palace of Versailles and not too many photos were taken (at least on film). The two and a half days following that the wife was working there (business trip) and I was on my own in possibly the most beautiful city on Earth, free to walk and take pictures in glorious sunshine. It was great

I took the 645 with 55mm and 75mm lenses and shot colour medium format. I also took a Ricoh film SLR (XR-M) and shot FP4+, but I still need to develop that. On digital I used my little Fujifilm X-M1 with Pentax DA limited and M lenses. I even managed to meet up with someone from the US forum and buy the DA 40mm, the last DA limited prime I was missing

Anyway, tonight I scanned the first roll of 120 that I shot there (Fuji 400H) and here are my favourites. I have a roll of Reala and two of 160NS to follow.

So what do you think I should do with these?Comment Image
You'll have to buy an LX for each of them.

Buying third party is always a risk with regards to compatibility with future cameras. This is in no way Pentax's fault - it happens because the third parties don't have the correct communication protocols to work with the camera. Those third parties need to fix these with firmware updates (which may require the items to be sent to them to install) but how much of a priority that will be for them, given how small a portion of the market Pentax has, is anyone's guess.

I understand that it hasn't been fixed, I don't think there have been any firmware updates. I had the original 30/1.4 for a time and sold it as it wasn't sharp wide open but from what I've read the new version has exactly the same problems.

A 24mm for 18 quid? I'd have gone for that, not sure about the others.

No, I expect a load of amazing, incredible, inspirational fast action AF tracked shots, all with high ISO, extreme small DOF, pixel-shifted, astrotraced and HDR
Now, where is that Auto button?!!
Don't joke. I sometimes shoot alongside a Nikon 810 user. Outside, at night, I asked him what ISO he had chosen. Blank stare! Discovered that he sees no reason to stray beyond Fully Auto and JPGs.[/quote]

For a general purpose zoom I'd never consider a lens that ends at anything slower than f/4 because it wouldn't be fit for purpose. I'd go for the Sigma or Tamron 17-50mm or the Sigma 17-70, though I've read the latter is soft in the corners at the wide end.

Sorry to hear about the missed photos. I'd have bought a second body there and then I think if it was clear the fault was serious.

Best to speak to an a repair shop, I'm not sure anyone here will be able to tell you.

Used K5s are going really cheap now with the K-1 coming and lots of K5s, K5IIs and K3s going onto the used market.
