I think any modern Pentax DSLR will do what you want and have improved image quality. Amazon have a great offer just now on the K-S1 with 50mm lens but there are plenty of other options if you're looking for something better and are willing to spend on it.

I agree Nikon cameras are hard to find your way around, especially when compared to the sensible layout and menus of a Pentax.

Sorry to hear that. You might want to send a mail to Eric Hendrickson to ask if it's anything he's seen before. It may be something simple to fix without much dismantling.

I was sure they stated when it came out that the 560mm was not FF capable.

I was looking at this yesterday compared to the 150-450 - it's not that much longer, it's the same speed (at the long end), it weighs double, it costs double....

I see it disappearing quite soon.

Note that's with the DAL 50/1.8 lens, not the 18-55. That costs around 90 on it's own so the camera works out as 150 quid. Bargain.

I handled a KS-1 just before I bought my K3 and I have to say I liked it a lot. Lack of top screen, grip option and weather sealing were the only bad things. The LED lights are silly but there's no doubt it's a good camera a bargain at clearance prices. Still miles ahead of the cheap CaNikons.

I bought a P50 on ebay and when it arrived it had the same problem, it may be a common fault. I haven't taken mine apart to try to fix it though (because even apart from that it's in a poor way).

The K-r was the first "entry level" Pentax DSLR to have auto-focus fine tuning. The K-m doesn't have it unless you go down the route of hacking the firmware. I did this on my K200D (th model before the K-m). It's not difficult but you have to be very careful and be aware that you run the risk of rendering the camera completely useless.

The only other option would be to send it to Pentax for them to do it. I'm not sure how long that would take or if they would charge for it.
