Some of the Vivitars are known to be quite good, especially if they're the close focus versions, but I would expect the Pentax to be better. It's a little slow but well built, compact and extremely sharp wide open.

Depends what you want from the zoom.

You can have:

option 1 - cheap, light and slow (ie 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6)
option 2 - expensive, heavy and fast (ie 28-70mm f/2.
option 3 - something in between (ie 28-70mm f/4)

Use the "Link" button to enclose the address.

Some nice photos there but contrast is way too high, giving them a very unnatural look.

No need to apologise.

Mine works fine.

I'd give the contacts a clean, just in case. This problem could conceivably give you blurry shots because the SR needs to know the correct focal length in order to adequately compensate for camera shake.

Excellent! Bought!

Many thanks - I was expecting to have to wait months for one to come along.

Not a grip in the conventional sense. The normal grip for 2CR5 batteries comes off and the larger AA grip goes on.

The SFXn (and maybe the original SFX) can use either the common 2CR5 battery grip or an alternative one which takes four AA batteries).

I would like one of the AA packs if anyone has one for sale or knows where one can be sourced. It must be fully functional and preferably in good cosmetic condition too.

Many thanks

I worry about the compatibility of my lenses (especially my lovely DA limiteds) when the K-mount no longer supports either in-body AF motors or mechanical aperture levers

Wow, these are very good flashes (I have one) and a bargain at this price. I paid almost as much for one (ex-demo).
