Interesting development. Ricoh did follow in Pentax's footsteps for a while so I am not surprised that if they want to expand into the SLR market again buying Pentax seems a good idea. I hope they keep the name and the design philosophy going though.

I like Ricoh. This is good news, a good 'fit'. Let's hope we see some nice R&D and advertising expenditure now for Pentax, at long last!

It's an interesting development. Ricoh have always produced quirky cameras and not been afraid to move into unusual design concepts. The Q should delight them, as will the very solid expertise of Pentax in DSLRs and lenses.

Wow, this is exciting- I was unaware that Hoya were primarily interested in the medical imaging side. To be fair the launch of the K5 says otherwise in my view. With the GXR Ricoh like to approach things from "left field". I wonder what's in store for the K3. I should think Ricoh would be very happy with the Q. I would love to see a range of lenses like the 35mm 2.4- affordable primes with very good performance. We cant all afford the ltds you know!
