Hi,

Yes, the P/Ka adapter has the A (Auto aperture) for automatic exposure and is worth quite a bit on it's own. It should allow you to control the aperture from the camera body.

I can't access Ebay from work but I believe this model will do 1:1 without the extension tube, if the mount is included it will work with your K-7 straight off providing the mount is OK. Some user comments here:

The 70mm should suffice John dont think there will be much wildlife around with all the noise, maybe a few sheep or something
Sheep OK

If it's forecast or looks like rain then it's default to the DA*16-50

I would suggest you take your 10-20 John its a useful zoom range at these places! and if you don't use it you could always let someone else have a go with it
Yours if you want it for the day Cliff, the DA-15 deserves to be used, it's a sin not to, I've got the long end covered with the DA-70 I think unless we're going to diversify into wildlife

It's just the mid-range, the FA-35/2 looks favourite at the moment.......or the FA-28........or the Siggy 24........decisions

It'll be a good excuse to give the DA-15 a try out, take the BG off the K20 and pocket a couple of other small primes, the DA-70 and one other, just not sure which 24, 28 or 35mm:

I answered "not sure" not because of Ricoh but because I'm dithering over a DA 15mm f4. Will I or won't or should it be another lens for Street.........
You could always try one, perhaps s/h purchase and sell if you don't get on with it, I was thinking of selling mine as I have the Sigma 10-20, I've had several good offers, I just think I should give it more time to grow on me.

The fact that Ricoh made some K mount SLR's gives one hope that they will continue the line.
Absolutely, after all why would they want to change something that's worked so well for so long. They would have to have a very good reason to change it.

Ricoh obviously had enough sense to adopt the K mount the first time round, no obvious reason to change now.

Still, I remember fondly how useful my Miranda 24mm used to be in film days when out fell walking,
Yhe DA-15 is roughly the equivalent of the 24mm and is ultra-wide (just), beautiful lens, diminutive size.

The idea of dropping one of the strengths of what you are buying does not make any sense at all.
Agreed John but *sense* doesn't always come into the equation.
Sony are relatively new to making DSLR's, they have plenty of resources and money, where's their mount? They used an established one, Minolta.

if your name is Ricoh, and you just bought Pentax, and you're selling under the Pentax brand.... you put out a simple advisory and offer a low-cost mod program to fix the old Ricoh lenses. as far as I can remember... the easy fix involved taking a pair of needle nosed pliers, grasping the Ricoh lock pin, and pulling real hard......
That would be easy enough to do, besides there aren't that many old Ricoh lenses around.

Dropping the K mount would be financial suicide, they'd lose a relatively small but dedicated following, they'd have no back catalogue of lenses for users, it would be a while before Sigma, Tamron et al produced 3rd party lenses, that's if they took them seriously and who would if their first move was to drop the K mount..........not me.
