The amount of people leaving and joining the "pentax family" fluctuates, but it is more likely to happen when a camera is released - On the one hand, new people buy it, on the other, the camera is not what someone is looking for and they decide to move on to a brand that suits them more. Thing is, the new pentax users just havent become "prominent" members yet, so you have not noticed them joining..

Does that solve your query?

What would be a reasonable price for my kit? Based on current SRP/RRPs its probably a fair amount due to the price rises, but are people willing to pay that?

This is what id value the use items at (all in great condition, no damage to any) based on what the price new is at the moment (at SRS)

K20D w/ Kit lens £450
DA*16-50 £600 (Currently 835 new and rrp over 1000)
DA 10-17 £225
Metz 58Af-1 £175
DA 50 £275 (439 new! Ridiculous)

now that works out at around £1700, and I paid around the same for the kit (the 16-50 was refurb).. so how would you price it? Id put it more at £1300ish..

By the way the only way im selling up is if the Nikon D300 replacement baffles me enough to want to buy it, and I can afford it. Ive been saving for ages for the K-7 and it hasnt made me want to buy it really.. ill wait for more reviews, but still.

Canon - Press (Sports based)
Nikon - Press (Other), General Photography
Fuji (Nikon Mount) - Portrait
Hasselblad - Studio
Leica - Street
Sony - For the kind of people who think a good camera is big and has a high mp count.
Olympus+Pentax - Amateur, slowly edging towards outdoor niche

Yesterday I bought a Canon Auto Zoom 318M for about £2 at a car boot sale, and when I got home, replaced the batteries and worked out how to use it, theres (luckily) a roll of super 8 film in it, so I had a little play around (its REALLY fun).

Anyway, after working out the cost of it (Would cost £52 to shoot 3.5mins of film, inc. price of film, processing and conversion to dvd), i'm trying to work out what to do with it - sell it, keep it, or do something else with it.. the latter i have no idea what.

any ideas/suggestions?

it could help correct perspective? like a tilt and SHIFT lens? I doubt it though
but otherwise, unless you can tilt it, it is pretty pointless

out of interest, why olympus?
i cant see much moving power, only for the small size, or perhaps if you can afford them, their more interesting lenses (14-35 F/2, 35-100 F/2, 150 F/2, etc)

Shot taken from a set of photos I took of a production of "The Comedy of Errors" by Shakespeare. (during a dress rehearsal, as official photographer ie, not from audience)
