Yeah my quote of £12000 was for the Hblad39, as I couldnt find any other prices online

Theres no need to stress, Pentax will easily bring out a camera for cheaper.

They have had DMF cameras out together for a while (as have Leaf, Sinar, Rollei, H'Blad among others), but you should note that the price quoted is body only, excluding the sensor back. Pentax's 645D will probably be cheaper, when you consider that a camera back costs around £12000, that totals £16000 altogether without lenses (at the current €>£ exchange rate)

With rumoured prices around $11000 USD, taking into account that the prices of pentax gear in the UK is usually a similar number, but a different currency, we're probably looking at £8000-10000.

[edit]

According to the british journal of photography, the 645D price is actually lookin more like £5000-6000 (Source: http://www.bjp-online.com/public/showPage.html?page=868986 ), which is a hell of a lot less than the Mamiya/PhaseOne when combined with the camera back

The K-7 is not worth double the price of the K20D, buy a good lens instead.

I can vouch for South Africa (Especially Franscheok, beautiful place) and Santorini, both would be excellent places to go. I know a photographer in the Western Cape http://www.hougaardmalan.com/, so you can check there to see how good the scenery is.

Its just a case of finding things for the children to do I guess. What about Disney World

Haha no I realise what you mean

I think its more "new camera on the market depression" - the fact I dont want the new pentax means I must want something else! Fact is I havent picked up my camera all week, and should probably just go out and shoot.

As I see it, and as I believe the K-7 was described pre-release by pentax, it is a side step from the K20D, not a step upwards, and for that reason I personally don't see why I would want it - It looks nicer, it probably feels nicer, and it takes movies, but until HD video is perfect in DSLRs I dont see the point in investing just for that feature. I am guessing the AF system is better, but 90% of my photos are not of moving objects..

I see it, the image quality is the same, and at the moment thats all that matters to me, and nothing would budge me from the K20D apart from a vast improvement in that area. That is one reason I have mentioned moving brands, because I can see the D300 replacement suiting me, however I highly doubt I will be able to afford it, and even still, is it worth it?

I highly doubt the K-7 will drop to sub-£600 prices while still in production, at most I think it will drop to £800, but even then thats a stretch

The K20D started at what, £800-900? and now its £579.
