Welcome to both Stefan and Istvan. Excuse my ignorance, but where is Tirgu Mures? From your avatar it looks cold.

This totally non-photographic topic, but it amused me when I saw it.

On a car in Anglesey, North Wales a registration number of

G10 SLR

I thought that it might belong to a Samsung owner. I also wondered if it might belong to a respected contributor to this forum.

Anybody know of any other such plates?

I have a question for you all:

Whilst doing some gardening yesterday, I had a thought - "Should I have a camera with me in case a photo opportunity came along?" As it did a few weeks ago when I was doing a bit of gardening for my Dad, on Anglesey, - a peregrine falcon landed briefly on a fence. and I thought then - "I wish I had my camera with me"

So, after that preamble, my question is "Do you take your camera when out in the garden working?" And a supplementary, if you do - "At what settings?"

No criticism of anybody intended and I would not want anybody stopped from entering. It is such a joy to look at all the entries.

And I certainly would not want anybody to be driven away from the forum.

It is this prissy attitude and constant moaning about the new format which will drive me away I'm afraid.
So if I inadvertently offended by pointing out the comment I apologise unreservedly.

With practice, one day I may even win or even reach the podium or get a commendation!

I've just noticed a rather juvenile comment left in the competition section of the gallery by a Pentax User Team Member, I think this is inappropriate and should be removed.

Where then? or has it been removed already?
Is this the one under the image by PentaxDan? The one that you, Gwyn, recommended he enter

Excuse my ignorance, yet again, - would the background here be classed as bokeh? Or is it out of focus background? What is the difference? This is taken with a Pentax 55-300. Handheld. (I must get a light weight tripod - any recommendations

Are they dragonflies or damselflies?

Thanks.

Here are two examples with very similar tubes and a Pentax M 1.7. The lens was at its widest and manual focus, but I can't rememeber the no. of tubes I used. They are hand held in the garden with a breeze blowing - probably a lesson in how NOT to take macro and will make the experts cringe. :blushBut one has to start somewhere)

It seems as if I can now order with confidence. Any problems that may occur will be entirely down to my clumsiness and lack of expertise.

That will be good to know.
