Well I knocked on your windows but there was nobody home (about 7-ish?). Oh well, another day...

Everybody knows that the K10D was a little - er - flakey when it came to metering with older (pre-A) lenses. Some got around this issue by fitting new focussing screens or simply metering at open aperture and doing sums in their heads.

Out of curiosity, has this quirk been "fixed" in the K20D? I can't remember seeing any threads complaining about the 20's tendancies but is this because it's old news to K10 owners or because nobody's tried their M50s et al on their shiny new DSLRs?

Unfortunately there is no way of adapting Canon lenses to the Pentax mount as Canon use a wider "mouth", however, you can achieve greater than 1:1 magnification by using your current macro lens combined with a set of extension tubes.

If you can find one (and you can afford it) look out for the Pentax FA*200mm Macro (or the earlier A*200mm Macro) as this is considered to be one of the finest macro lenses ever made by any manufacturer. Prices for these tend to reach well over £1000+ on eBay - even for well-used examples!

If you start a new topic in the lenses section of the forum you'll probably get more replies than in here. Welcome by the way!

The Sigma 180mm Macro certainly is available in Pentax fit, although it's rare, expensive and hard to find. Sigma also make 70mm and 105mm macros in Pentax fit but their 150mm macro is not yet available for Pentax (it is expected to be released soon though).

Some say that those who have strayed from the path of Pentaxeousness get reincarnated as Nikonians for their sins...

I went from Nikon to Leitz/Leica and then to Canon, in my opinion the Canon's have no equal (although not tried any Pentax ). If you think image stabilisation is useful on cameras wait until you try it with binoculars - it's a revelation!

I also found Canon to make the lightest (albeit due to cheap-looking shiny plastics) and most comfortable bins due to the greater range of adjustments and really big rubber eyecups that actually do the job of keeping stray light out of the scene. Best of all, they cost about 1/2 the price I paid for the Nikons and 1/4 the cost of the Leitz.

If I was you I'd try a pair of these and not look back...

Love the colours, the sky and the lighting in numbers 3 and 5 - looks like you're getting good use from your new purchases.

Number 2's probably my least favourite - nothing wrong with it technically but that expanse of mud at the front just looks untidy and uninteresting to me. Just my $0.02.

I rather like the pink-ish hue in shot #5, realism can be overrated...
