There are occassional Pentax/Samsung pictures that turn up in the AP gallery, but the proportion is probably in line with Pentax's market share. After all, something like 90%+ of DSLRs sold have been Canikons so it's no great shock to see 90%+ of the pictures published reflect that. I've noticed that when AP have their competitions Pentax users often make up a disproportionate number of winners though, so we've obviously got quality over quantity on our side...

Well done! I've submitted dozens of photos to the PPG over the last year and haven't had so much as a sniff of getting one in there - so I know the competition's tough!

I've got a selection of A3 sheets in every colour of the rainbow courtesy of my local art supplies / craft shop. They only cost a few pence each and I often use them as backdrops, just slide them behind the subject and the job's done! In fact they're one of my most-used photographic accessories.

To change the background in post production is possible in Photoshop, but it's fiddly and rarely looks 100% convincing unfortunately. Shame, other than the mass of beige it's a great picture. I'm not a big fan of black and white usually but maybe a mono conversion would help here?

I only ever use sRGB - I know it's technically inferior but it's by far the most convenient when you end up sending stuff here, there and everywhere!

I quite like the look of the K-m; add a couple of DA Limiteds and you've got a nice little lightweight kit. I've been eyeing the Oly 420 and their 25/2.8 pancake but this K-m would have in-body SR and be able to use all my other lenses if need be. I'm really looking forward to seeing the full specs next week!

It's a lovely lens Mac, I'm sure you won't regret buying it! I use it as my standard "walk-around" lens on both the K10D and the MX; true, the field of view is narrower on the digital camera but I still look at it as being within the "normal"-ish range.

The fact that it's so small, light and tactile doesn't hurt either!

my Leica hasn't seen a film in 2 years
Some of us lust after a Lieca, then agaian if I had one and didn't use it it would take a trip to any shop that would pay it's worth. Still...
Don't get too jealous; the Leica I was referring to is a Minilux which I keep as my "compact" film camera, the reason it doesn't get used is that I rarely take a compact (I rely on my phone for emergencies) and when I do it tends to be the Contax 'cos it's digital. I wish it was an M6 with the new Noctilux 50/0.95 but that's well out of my financial league.

The Rollei gets more attention simply because it's medium format and so offers me a completely different medium to play with (and it takes nice photos of course!).

Other than that I've got 60+ film bodies and half-a-dozen digicams; with the exception of another Leica (a tatty IIIf with an equally scruffy Summitar 50) none of which are worth more than a couple of quid.

About 50% of them are Olympus Trips, I can't walk past one at a car boot sale without buying it - rarely for more than a pound. I've played with so many now I know them pretty well, so repairs are generally straightforward. They're great for putting on the tables at weddings - they're simple to use (very intuitive for young and old alike) and produce much better pictures than the disposable ones you usually get given.
