tried out the sunny 16 rule... not sure if it really worked too well but the photos came out ok with some cropping/ a little sharpening

Very nice series. I like the second one best but I would have liked seeing them a little bigger. 800 on the wide side would suffice

What lens did you use:

Sunny 16 is a great starting point for moonshots and yours are proof of that....the only little detial to explore next, is perception...
people expect the moon to be this glowing white lightsource in the night sky.

somewhere between the reality of rock and craters in your capture, and the blinding white disc people expect, there is a happy medium...

opening up one to two stops over the correct (sunny sixteen) exposure will balance, reality and perceptions and in the process exceed expectations...
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

haha. thanks to everyone. I thought the photos were a little under exposed but not bad for the lens or it being hand held W/o tripod. I was playing around with the light setting so thats why some are varied in color.

The lens I used was the Quantaray 70-300mm Telephoto Macro.

You see, that's why I like this place. I've had loads of books from the library recently, all about photography. But in a couple of days on here I've come across Bokeh and Sunny 16 , both of which weren't in any book.

Thanks guys. Something else learned.

I rather like the pink-ish hue in shot #5, realism can be overrated...
