I have entered a few times but dread winning because of the onerous task of providing meaningful critiques come judging time a week later. Could this be putting members off entering? I know it is great to get feedback but if comments could be expected only on the winning entry and second and third place, then perhaps we could encourage more members to enter?

Dunno. Waddya think?...
Personally I think the critique part is *more* important for those outside the top three as they're the ones who need the input to see where they're going wrong.

Just my opinion though and like John says it doesn't happen very often so I'll carry on entering when I have something suitable...

Nobody knows. Well, nobody outside of Pentax anyway and they aren't saying...

Speaking on behalf of the little voices inside your head;

Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it....

Sell the Horseman if needs be, you know you'll never find a suitably cheap wide angle for it...

I can't imagine it'd cause any problems but I'm not intimate with that TC - are you sure it's meant to have a spring? Sounds like it was designed to rely on the lens for its return...

If you have a photo or two a diagnosis would be easier.

Colour for me too - it's the petrol blue shades in the clouds that make me warm to the first version, the monotone one's a bit drab for my taste.

I'm in the "both" camp too.

If I'm, for instance, taking photos for an eBay listing I'm striving for an accurate and truthful representation.

If I'm shooting a portrait then I'm hoping to achieve something that's flattering to the subject.

And as far as Hi-Fi goes I'm in the camp that uses equipment that produces a sound I like. Not sure Hi-Fi and photography are truly comparable though as listening to music is often a solitary exercise whereas photographs tend to be shared, hence with the latter there's a greater emphasis on trying to please others as well as yourself.

I like the angle - makes for an unusual composition and it works well for me. I also quite like the reflection of the light on the ceiling - gives it a "clubby" atmosphere.

I think there's too little detail in the shadow areas for my taste though - perhaps a lower contrast level would sort this out? I'm certainly not an expert on B+W but I think this is quite a nice portrait overall.

Glad I wasn't the only one to think that!
