I like the angle - makes for an unusual composition and it works well for me. I also quite like the reflection of the light on the ceiling - gives it a "clubby" atmosphere.
I think there's too little detail in the shadow areas for my taste though - perhaps a lower contrast level would sort this out? I'm certainly not an expert on B+W but I think this is quite a nice portrait overall.

Liked this one of a friend playing "Rock Band" over at my house yesterday. Shot at iso 1600 with 10-17 fisheye.
