I think this is a great shot. Without knowing who the memorial is for it still stands on merit as a well captured shadow - the sword lends an air of menace which appeals to me. Nice one Pauly!

As the old saying goes; there are lies, damned lies and statistics.

The image quality is almost certainly measured at base ISO, where you would generally expect a CCD sensor to be superior to CMOS. At higher ISO ratings the CMOS sensor will come into its own.

Ditto dynamic range.

The viewfinder figures ignore the fact that although the K-7 has a lower magnification it does have a 100% view - overall size is about the same therefore.

The K10D had a 14-bit processor which gave it the edge in colour depth. As this extra gamut wasn't actually viewable for the majority of intents and purposes it was scaled back for subsequent models.

The bottom line is that if you only shoot at base ISO (100) then you won't see any improvements in IQ by upgrading from a K10D - that does overlook all the other improvements made to general handling and speed of operation though. Only you know if it's worth the money to you - it wasn't to me, hence I've still got my K10D...

Unfortunatley I've lost the box with all the adapters in it so if anyone has a spare adapter of the Olympus or Nikon type please let me know and save an old man from laying on the floor to take flower pictures!

Probably because they don't think they'll sell enough to justify the mount conversion. I'm sure they research these things and have a good idea who their target market is. You could always email them and ask?

lol @ the idea of me running seminars

If you want to have a bid and pay after next payday I'm usually quite flexible, as long as folks tell me their plans in advance.

My K10D had quite a severe backfocus problem and the hack made a night-and-day difference to performance. As you can gather from the above though, not all K10Ds suffer so...

I've just listed a very tidy '57 AP (in need of a shutter service) on eBay. Couldn't really offer it as a sale as I have no idea how I would've gone about pricing it, but thought there may be some on here interested in a little Pentax history (for those that don't know, the camera was the first ever to carry the Pentax name and is the grandaddy of them all - it also happens to be extremely rare).

Auction here: link

It finishes around 6.40pm next Monday (11 April) so good luck to anyone from here who fancies a bid.
