Probably because they don't think they'll sell enough to justify the mount conversion. I'm sure they research these things and have a good idea who their target market is. You could always email them and ask?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the new OS version of this IS coming in Pentax mount, along with the 150mm OS macro.

I think as Hefty said, it used to be a volume of sales thing but I've noticed a lot of their new Lenses are going to be Pentax K. So presumably Hoya must have hit some pre determinind target required by Sigma HQ to trigger enhanced production? Good news all round really, I believe even the new 150mm Macro will be K fit too!
Sigma must think Pentax is on the "UP"...

A pity Pentax haven't hit what ever predetermined target figure Tamron use to produce their lenses. They seem to have practically dropped Pentax from their range.

They do have a few. Interestingly it only seems to be the FF lenses. Do they know something we don't!?

None of their newer lenses have been brought out in Pentax fit have they?
I was going to ask about it a Photokina, but they were strictly trade only there - all we could do was press our noses to the glass and peer inside their stand .

You may be right. I think the third party lens market must be tough. You have to make for Nikon and Canon - after that it's down to economics.
They have made some good lenses though.

I agree - and if they were to stick a K mount on some of their newer stuff I might even buy them.

I don't know if it's true but I have read Tamron has not dropped the K-mount totally. Some of their lenses could be offerend in K-mount also in the near future. Have read it on DPreview and on Pentaxforums.com by people who contacted Tamron.A pity Pentax haven't hit what ever predetermined target figure Tamron use to produce their lenses. But I think it's Tamron's loss if they wait too long. Sigma's offerings are quite good too most of the time and I went almost all Sigma for my AF-lenses. I think the Sigma line-up has enough to offer in K-mount and if they omit some of their new offerings for K-mount there almost always is an alternative. Although the mentioned 120-300mm f2.8 is quite unique of course.

It's possible they are not planning to launch it in the UK. You might still be able to get it but not through the offical channels.
