Very nice results. I was put off Meyer a little after exposure to a couple of Domiplans, but this design looks to be altogether superior. Good job!

Use a blower or learn to live with them - whatever you do don't be tempted to touch the screen as the fresnel side is very delicate and any scratches will appear worse than a few dust specks.

The double-checking of focus can be switched off in some Pentax bodies to enable quicker (but less accurate) AF. All macro lenses will hunt to a greater degree than non-macro lenses as the focus throw is so much longer, having said that the DA35 is usually pretty quick by macro standards.

As for the hood, there has to be some gap between hood and barrel or it wouldn't be able to slide up and down. The "wobble" is most noticeable when the hood is fully extended but makes no difference to operation - the FA77 Limited uses the same system and behaves in exactly the same way too.

Your lens sounds like it's just fine and dandy.

I have one without a name from SR Girten. It worked well on the K20,a little loose as others mentioned. I got it out agian the other day to use with the new K7 but cannot find the adpator anywhere... so if you have a spare let me know....

If you've still got the other adapters that came with it then the Olympus one works with Pentax viewfinders and the Nikon one can be persuaded to squeeze on too.

I don't think it looks too bad (it could even grow on me) but I'll reserve judgement until I see an official feature list. If it turns out to be about the same size / price as a Panasonic LX3/5 but with ability to use C mount lenses then I could be interested...

To be fair, with some good reason - I've never encountered a shoddy piece of equipment from Olympus (and I've had a few bits over the years) which is more than I can say for some C&N gear I've had.

Given the economies of scale that both Nikon and Canon enjoy I think it's miraculous that Pentax prices aren't significantly higher than they actually are. Those who think Pentax glass is expensive should have a browse through the Olympus price list...

For one, I'm glad Pentax no longer operate at a loss. I'd rather they charge more and stick around than go under - the latter being the likely direction they were headed until Hoya took control.

I'm actually quite content with my camera gear right now, but I'm sure something shiny will pop up to tempt me again sooner or later.

Clicky Link

I agree with pretty much everything written in that link. It is truly a Goldilocks lens for me.

Use USPS if you can - Royal Mail do the delivery at this end and if there are any extra duties to pay they don't add on such huge "collection fees" as UPS, FedEx, etc.
